Where would he play now though as much as i would want him back.
We are now pretty well covered at centre half, his best positon.

You really do talk some absolute BOLLOCKS don't you! No manager in their right mind would choose to permanantly switch Whing to LB
I'm very surprised people arnt really going for the virgo thing to be honest.
He was a real 110% effort type of player and a rock for us. Versatile aswell, the boy is a winner and his strength and ariel ability is what weve been lacking in years gone by.
I always used to say when we were in league one and the championship with players like Virgo,Cullip,Carpenter,Oatway.....we were one nil up in the tunnel before the game kicked off....we looked like a tough team of lads who were not to be messed with. Look at the squad of little boys we started a lot of games with last season.....we were not a hard looking team.
Come back adam...make as a team of hard looking nutters again!
I believe that he played left back for Coventry on many occassions also if you remember Paul Watson he was a right back who kicked with his left foot which meant that he was always coming inside of the players to put in crosses also Dean Cox on the left- right footed, going back Chris Waddle on the right left footed. This ploy has been very succesful with many players why should Andrew Whing be any different.
Perhaps it is not quite such Bollocks as you say!!!
I would love Virgo back.
But unless we sell Elphick or Lynch its not going to happen
I'm still not convinced by Lynch at CB, I like him more at left-back. .
Why?
Because we already have 3 centre backs and El-Abd still might sign which will be 4.
Playing Virgo in any other position is a waste.
Are we not allowed cover then? I would have Virgo as cover for Whing, Elphick, Lynch, Forster and Murray. I would imagine he would get a decent number a games.

You think Virgo will come to us as cover.....
I remember Mick McCarthy saying, after we beat Sunderland 2-1 at Withdean (when Virgo got sent off), that his side bottled it before the game when he saw we were starting with what he described as two bouncers up front (Virgo and McCammon).
Because Whing was one of the most consistant players of the past season and a bit and so it'd be madness to disrupt that by asking him to play out of position.
Because every time you have a full back who only uses the opposite foot to the side they play, the opposition winger only has to prevent a five yards ball inside and the full back will be forced to slice the ball into touch.
