Shef Wed transfer listed Adam Proudlock a couple of weeks ago

He did ok for Wolves in Div 1 a couple of years ago before getting a bit too wrapped up in his own publicity so to speak

Wages possibly a problem but maybe worth a punt for a months loan; sign him in time for the Wolves home game and he will surely want to prove a point

Also Swindon seem to be the new Reading ( signing our past players ) as they now have both Henderson and Yeates on loan

If no loan forward signed then Virgo up front with Leon and Reid at rightback seems worth a go to me???

Maybe McGhee is a bit too paranoid after what happened at Milwall - I believe the fans turned against him when he played too many players out of poistion at the same time - Wise led the revolt and McGhee left

We however have El-Abd, Hinshelwood, Mayo, Cullip, Virgo and Butters who can all play centre half and no centre forward ( when McPhee injured as at present )

Thus the centre half with the hardest shot ( Virgo ) up front does not seem like clueless management to me

Dublin changed from centre forward to centre half at Villa last year ok

Also Doherty is often in midfield / defence; yet played up front for Norwich and scored last night

Am sure DK is hoping Adams is in a generous mood after the match on Monday is he only has Blake, Dublin, Connolly, Scowcroft and Benjamin in his squad who can play up front; thus now Dublin is back we may be able to scrounge Benjamin on loan in time for the Wolves home game?

Steve Foster started as a Centre Forward at Pompe as a youngster and for England Schoolboys. May be worth a try ina reserve game opr if we are losing on Saturday for the last 15 minutes. As they say nothing ventured nothing gained and if we are losing anyway what's the odds.

you may all laugh at virgo upfront. and i must admit i would never of thought of that myself but, wait a minute, this may not be such a bad idea.
ok, before you all think i have gone mad aswell. all the players have said he has the hardest shot at the club. he can head a ball. and he has kept his nerve on a couple of occasions and scored in the last minute of a couple of games, proving he does have a eye for goal (not many defenders do).
???

an unthought of idea, but i must say i quite like it. afterall we have cover at right fullback.

Virgo upfront would be ok but talking about players out of position hinsh is in centre midfield when he is a defender.

I believe that Virgs would be a massive lose in defence i think piercy would do a good job had a couple of games there last year and did alright and theres harty as well, and you know hart would give his all where ever he played. i think Virgs should be in centre back because butters to me looks a bit out of his depth which means Hinsh could go rb and then reidy or someone could slot into the middle.

I remember Proudlock doing alright for Wolves towards the end of his career there and at the beginning of his Wednesday one.

McGhee said we have to capitalise on other side’s mistakes, maybe Proudlock would be a decent addition?

Playing centre forward is not just about being able to head a ball and having a hard shot.

I only played Sunday football, but the hardest bit I found was staying onside especially against a team that pushes up. An inexperienced forward is likely to be caught offside a lot.

Having a really hard shot is also a totally different skill to being a good finisher, something that we've seen no evidence of from Virgo. I'm also not sure if his close control is good enough to hold the ball up effectively which as a target man he'd need to do.

Proudlock, Please no. He was awful in both games against us last time we were in Div1, for Wolves. Even dropping down a division last year he was poor against us for Wednesday.

He looks like he spends more time on his hair than he does on his technique ... a prima dona with a very high opinion of himself.

McGhee says that he doesn't want to play players out of position !!

Did he say that? How does he explain Hinsh and Mayo in midfield?

Gary Doherty (ex Spurs and now Norwich) is a centre half who they sometimes use upfront and he has a fantastic scoring record

Adam Proudlock would be OK if Sheff Wed have released him then we could sign him on 1 month short term contract to have a look at him and then make a decision but I am not so sure about using one of our permitted loans up on him.

Proudlock- overweight, lazy, attitude problem.

Ask Wendy fans, they can't wait to get rid of him.
