Well, I really hope this one goes through. It is the first signal we are serious about becoming a top 10 club...

This exactly. Far too many posters are focussing on age, sicknote: the predictable negatives. This is a marquee signing that will attract attention in a way that 'Unheard From Eredivisie' would not. And, you never know, he might even be good on the pitch as well as taking on uncle role from Muzza.

100% this

This is an absolute step change for the Albion, another level. Getting players like Lallana in attracts other players like Lallana, for instance a striker like Giroud is then potentially no longer fantasy.
I never thought I’d see this in my lifetime.

Whilst I agree with the sentiment, I think this is a one off. We don't want to go down the Palace route of being a retirement home that pays you £100k a week. We want a very experienced mentor to give the team and growing band of 23 year old prospects some nous. It may well attract some more Bissouma type signings but as good as a short term player Giroud would be, I don't think that is the plan.

To be fair, Cahill has been an excellent signing for that lot up the road.

Made-up transfer porn?

Weird how they all call themselves "journo"-this or "agent"-that.

Like a real agent would actually spend his or her time tweeting rumours and putting their clients' top secret lucrative deals at risk by blabbing about them on Twitter

I’ve got a feeling he’s talking about ‘ladies of negotiable affection’

These aren't the players you're looking for.

I have given up paying for a season ticket to watch a tv screen to tell me i can celebrate a goal. I''ll leave that to mugs like you :lolol:

I

You've got it wrong. You should celebrate when we score and celebrate again after the VAR check confirms the goal.

Twice the fun.

I just want us to be comfortable mid table, playing good football, winning games especially at home. That’s an achievable ambition.

I never buy into the Top 10 eagerness. The Top 6, Wolves, Leicester, Everton and West Ham spend £100m’s more than us on fees/agents/wages, with occasional other clubs being taken over with petro-dollars, so it’s a hard ask to establish ourselves as “Top 10”.

Incremental steps.

One reason that this really pleases me, beyond the obvious fact that he is quality, is that we have quite a lot of young players and (no disrespect to our other players) not so much in the way of leaders in our older players. Don't get me wrong, it's not a criticism, some people are natural leaders, others not so much. Dunk and Glenn are quite strong characters in the dressing room I'm sure, others possibly too, but IMO we've missed what we had in players like Steve Sidwell and Liam Rosenior. Real "believers", that kind of passionate/strong personality/attitude. Lallana is a great person to bring in who will bring some of that kind of fire back into the dressing room. I'm convinced it is something we have been a little short of in the last couple of seasons, and bringing it back if we can will help the whole squad.

Agreed. Also Molumby is a leader too. So looking good for next season

Sorry but I'm not going to overboard on this signing as some major concerns about fitness and injuries. If he plays enough even at 32 he could be an asset and I hope my fears are unfounded.

Available in match day squad for 25/29 pre covid premier league games this season and majority of champions league squads.

He hasn’t played as they have a stronger squad

Reasons to be cheerful about this:

Signing from the current Prem/European/World champions with great references

Long term planning and adjusting contract offers (lower wage, longer term, coaching pathway) to attract the right people

Other PL fans getting pissy about it

Another 'nice guy' in the squad

But the number one reason to rejoice is that BG got there first and would be chuffed to buggery about all this.

Very true - a fitting tribute to the late BG.

Hey, did you hear?
About when a player came
I hear he's called Adam
Playin' a new game
Laughing and a running hey, hey
Skipping and a jumping
In the misty morning fog with
Our hearts a thumpin' and you
My brown-eyed boy
You, my brown-eyed boy

Do you remember when we used to sing
Adam la la la la la la la la la lallana
Adam la la la la la la la la la lallana
Lallana

Absolutely this. The best legacy we can give him.

‘See, I bloody was right all along’

No transfer fee so can probably afford higher wages. Will probably also have to get White on a new deal if we are to keep him as he will be wanting more than what he's on now. Despite Lallana coming in Dunk is still our best player so he may feel like he wants a better deal. Don't think we're going to be making many signings this summer mostly working on the best squad for Potter and possibly offloading more than we bring in. Lallana is a versatile player but not sure what position Potter will have him playing. We do need a left back and another forward option in my opinion. So even if we only bring in 3 more players plus with loans coming back and lose a few who don't fit the mould I think we'll be set to aim for top 10 next season.

Posh Spice is a slapper
Her dildos a banana
And when she's shagging Beckham
She thinks of Adam Lallana

spine improved , white + lallana

good news

Don’t forget Molumby . I’ve seen a bit of him and he is good enough to eclipse both of them.
