If you think because you pay to watch you have the right to slag players of, think again. If your that pissed off with the performance, don't f***ing go again. I'm sure you don't be missed by the club.

Hmm, I think the club would probably disagree with that. Seems quite a few fans have already gone that route and if it carries on like this so will a few more

Fans are happy to swear at, shout at, gester at and boo players as much as they want, but as soon as a player does anything back then they get their knickers in a twist and the player's a disgrace.

Yes, El-Abd probably shouldn't have done it, but in the heat of the moment he did. Everyone feels the pressure, and gets annoyed at times, and a lot of people would act the same way if they were having a torrent of abuse directed at them.
This seems to sum up society at the moment. People loves giving abuse and lashing out, yet when they are on receving end, they start crying. I think a lot of so called 'fans' need to have a long hard think, just why they bother wathcing football

Most people in that stand, with a few exceptions, have no right to boo a profesional footballer. Unless you've played a descent standard, you the f*** are you to passs judgement. Most of the pricks that boo and shout abuse, are to fat to put a pair of boots on, let lone play the game.

What is the minimum standard to be able to be an Albion fan I can do a few kick ups, do you decide or will the players be on hand for every ticket purchased?

Probably a member of his family, but it's not his.

It is his.... but he's named on his Mum's insurance. I know because he wrote my prized BMW off!!!

With regards to the gestures, not defending him or saying it's right but as others have pointed out, maybe if the fans got behind the team and cheered them on a bit instead of booing and moaning into their thermos flasks/sitting in silence he wouldn't have been so upset with us. How often do you hear cliches about the crowd being the "12th man". We've got our part to play too, innit.

Yes.

He is a PROFESSIONAL footballer ffs. He HAS to be above it.

Last season Lee Trundle held a banner labelled 'f*** off Cardiff'

Is that allowed?
Could you explain why you think a professional footballer should be above that?

Please?

So it is acceptable for my eleven year old grandson to be subjected to that from an Albion player is it?

These players are who he looks up to!! Wonderfull example to him

So because you've not played a decent standard of football, it means you can't tell when a player has a shocker? :shootself

Away at Tranmere last week they failed to score ('our' goal was an own goal), and lost 2-1. Cheered off the pitch. A few were critical, and showed it by drifting out in the last few minutes.

Home today they lose 1-0 and it seems get a barrage of criticism, and boos.

El-Abd has played as well as any in the away matches I've seen, working with Butters in defense but also often up with attacks.

Perhaps it is somebody else with the same name that plays at the Withdean? That or different fans.

El abd has vented his frustration in the wrong way today but I think it shows he was wound up and determined to win the game rather than a lot of other players on that pitch.

One thing I will say is that from the first whistle today he was literally putting himself on the line for the team (crunching tackle with Bradford player) and giving 110% as he always has done. People say hes a drinker etc but it seems that over the last two years he has sorted himself out.

People who are saying he had a shit game are totally overreacting. He made one very poor attempt at goal which is probably what most people remember, apart from that I recall him being relatively solid in defence despite playing out of position, I still think he looks a hell of a lot more comfortable at centre half.

Compare a wholehearted player like El abd today to one like jakey/coxy who apart from the last 15 minutes seemed to run away from the ball every time it came near them, although his actions were wrong, I certainly know who I would rather have.

Exactly, we need to action on El-Abd immediately. If we don't then, surely we the fans should take action to get something done about it.

You watch this situation slowly get blown out of proportion once the Argus gets hold of it. At the time not that many fans responded. Can't do him many favours with fans who want to get on his back.

I thought Adam put in some strong challenges today, but really needs to focus on the game - last thing he needs is arguments with fans.

Dean White saw it all and I am sure the club will discipline him.

With greatest respect it's just a wanker sign, I am sure if he even knows what it means he will get over it. I am sure he has heard/seen far worse at school.

You make it sound like it was aimed directly at your grandson:dunce:

If he was shouting abuse and booing, then maybe it'll teach him a valueable lesson in life.
