anyone know who the Albion fan was mid way on left of block H with his arm in blue and white plaster? Nearly got chucked out at the end

Was he the one kicking in the chairs?

Just a thought - would anybody here prefer a player who just stood & wilted when getting slaughtered on the pitch?

The point was that he WASN'T getting slaughtered on the pitch.

If he wants to know about players who get unfair stick he should have a quiet word with his manager about his playing days.

I've just ploughed my way through all six million posts on this, and apart from the odd lapse it's been a decent debate. I was at the match, didn't boo (I think silence is a load more telling) and saw El Abd at the end because I sit behind the away dug out. For what it's worth I give a thumbs down to the booers and to the player, and a bit of humility from both wouldn't go amiss.

The bit of the thread that slightly amuses me, though, is the idea that because you pay £25 or whatever, or you buy a season ticket, you think you have a guarantee of a sparkling performance, or even an exciting match, every time you go through the turnstiles. That's the beauty of football - you just never know. A few weeks ago against Scunthorpe we saw one of the best games for years, and I'd have paid double. Yesterday balanced it out. But in the end, if you don't like the product, or you don't think it's good value, then don't buy another. What you can't do is wail and moan and expect it to suddenly come good. Sadly, life ain't like that.

Absolutely. Highs and lows.

I thought the anger coming from the crowd yesterday was actually quite shocking and even savage. Direct it at LDC instead.

old e-bay username is 1066 seagull. No suprise there then.

generally speaking, this has been a reasoned debate on this thread....with many different opinions. How sad that stupid things like this are posted on e-bay.

So it is acceptable for my eleven year old grandson to be subjected to that from an Albion player is it?

These players are who he looks up to!! Wonderfull example to him
As you are keen to take the moral high ground and bring grandchildren into the discussion, do you think your avatar sets a good example to 11 year olds?

My point was that you cant expect a player to stand up & be counted on the pitch but take whatever abuse the fans deem necesary off it. To be fair to El- Abd a lot of our supporters are a bunch of wankers who like nothing better than to have a perceived excuse to berate the players/ management/chairman.

On the point about good/bad games evening out. This was the 5th home game I've seen in 3007 and no goals for us.

They've all been against teams near or below us in the league.

The Bradford game was not the worst but, if you consider the poor displays put on infront of the Withdean crouds over the last 2 seasons, it's small wonder people are a tad frustrated.

And what can we expect from the Oldham game? Will it be another display like that against Stoke in the last game of last season? I think we'll need free admission and topless Gully's Girls to get a crowd in.

Adam El-Bad worked his balls off for the team and the fans yesterday. In no way did he deserve to be included in the boos. It was wrong that he reacted in the way he did, but Dean White was letting him know EXACTLY what he thought of his reaction with a sever finger-wagging and you canbe sure he got the full hair-drier treatment in the dressing room. I'm sure he'll be in the paper on Monday apologising profusely. But passions were running high at the end, and the lad's still only young and got it wrong just this once. Maybe just everybody just write it off as a bad day at the office all round, and move on.

Adam El-Bad = STILL Albion Hero IMHO.

I am not saying what Adam El Abd is alleged to have said is right but do you think an 11 year old has not heard far worse at school.

I was talking to a customer in a pub when I did a relief and she told me that she was a teacher of 7 yr olds and at least once a week she is told to F.Off bya pupil in her class, not always the same one.
