After his performance yesterday there have obviously been calls for his inclusion in the starting eleven.

I personally feel he is best off the bench.

Would you start him, if so who for ?

Keep the starting midfield as it is and bring Lennon off the bench, just give him a bit longer maybe.

Looked class when he came on and I'd be inclined to rest Beckham and play him. Be good to see if the team are capable of playing without the whole gameplan being built around Beckham crosses and free kicks. Give the opposition something else to think about.

I'd agree with that (and bring in Carrick for Lampard while we're about it).

We're through whatever happens so it's a good time to experiment.

Dropping Beckham is the most stupid idea i have heard..... i was talking beyond the group stage by the way not the throwaway game against Sweden

If you do drop Becks against Sweden and play Lennon what happens if he has a stormer

We still need to avoid defeat in the Sweden game to finish top of the group so not really the time to go experimenting. best to try and keep the momentum of winning go and try to build and improve on the performances so far.

Is it really so essential to finish top of the group? What if Germany finish second, would we really be pulling out all the stops to play them?

I can't think of a better time to try to rest some players and mix things up a bit.

And if Lennon plays really well. doesn't that give Sven some useful options for future games?

The only way I would start Lennon is for Owen.

I do not want to go through another World cup/ Euros where we are carrying him again with all the pundits saying you cant drop him.

Why not?

A player gets confidence and we have options? Which is my biggest criticism of Sven when the pressure is on, one game plan is not enough.

We need to be clear about this. We want to win the group and win all our group matches. Fannying about, like we did in our final group match against Nigeria, is a waste of time.

A team on a winning streak that doesn't concede will intimidate opponents, we must play our best team in every match.

Lennon was brought here as an impact player from the bench and he is doing a great job. Similarly, so was Crouch. We're lucky Crouch has done so well but that glaring miss yesterday worries me.

The Sweden draw with T&T has given Sven an opportunity re strikers. I'd "rest" Crouch, put in Rooney and stick with Owen, give him one more chance.

Sven can't lose here - if Owen scores Sven's a hero for sticking with him, if he doesn't we've still qualified anyway and he can bring Crouch back in later.

I reckon Equador will Win group A, they only need a draw. And we then cant meet Brazil until the final if we finish 2nd. Might as well play Lennon, Walcott etc and if we win then good and if we don't it doesn't really matter. Could well work out better to finish 2nd.

I'm sure that we must have the slowest team in the entire competition. So, if you plod along like ancient mules and launch high balls into the box from the halfway line for 60 minutes, we should have bamboozled the opposition enough to then introduce Lennon and look threatening and equipped.

I'd try Beckham at right back with Lennon at right midfield / wing. I think Beckham was more effective when he dropped back for the last 30 mins as it gave him more options to pass forward to Rooney, Lampard and Gerrard. It also gave Rio and Terry an easy pass to Beckham who could then pick out the runs of Lennon.

So my team for Sweden would be.....

Robinson

Beckham Rio Terry A. Cole

Lennon Carrick Lampard Downing

Rooney Owen

Give Crouch and Gerrard a rest, give Owen and Rooney a game together to get fit and sharp, and see how Beckham can play at right back.
