Martin McGauge, played for Kent on an Irish passport! (Was described as thus)

Another candidate from the era was Craig White!

latterly

Darren Pattinson...played one Test was shite, but wishes now he would have kept his powder dry because he'd be a shoo in now for the Aussies!

There have been quite a few. Apart from these, there were Alan Mullally (sp?), Jason Gallian and Tim Ambrose. In another era, Gubby Allen was actually born in Australia.

Of course, Andrew Symonds was also qualified to play for England and thought long and hard about which team to play for.

Go on Edna have a guess, he , or his parents made their way all the way from the "democratic republic of congo" formerly zaire a belgian colony, go on give it a go.

Because Belgian is a sh*t hole and only the terminally stupid would want to live there. I think I'll ask my mother why she chose Sunny Sussex over Ireland when she left Spain .......

I'm confused. Doesn't take a lot, admittedly!!

I thought nationality was based upon your parents nationality. Matt Prior's father is English so therefore he is English. His mother is South African so he could also have played for them if he wanted to.

My sister was born in Kenya to English parents. Does that make her Kenyan?

My eldest son was born in England to English parents. He is English. My youngest was born in South Africa to English parents. Does that make him South African?

Or for the purposes of this thread, is anyone born outside England, not English?
