Depends what you're looking for.
Indeed. So what would you be looking for, Easy? Why - in your opinion - is it NOT the best league in the world *at the moment*? The Premiership has results at the top end, it pays big money for some of the best players in the world, crowds are 2nd biggest in the world (after the Bundesliga) and the average stadium is still streets ahead of most stadia elsewhere. People forget that the 18th placed team in Italy often places in a delapidated stadium in front of 6,000 and they are far more shit than, say, Wigan or Fulham. Plus, you don't even know you're not watching a fixed result!

For me, a better argument against the Premiership is "at what cost"? We've now got horrendous income distribution, inflated ticket prices, stupid match scheduling and the marginalising of the one of the best knockout cup competitions in club football.

who knows, Man United may not have been such a dominate force in the game, and Ferguson may not have been manager if it wasnt for the referee adding on 28 minutes injury time at Old Trafford against Sheffield Wednesday allowing Man U to score and win the league. They would have gone yet another year without winning the league.

Hence the phrase "Fergie Time" was born - time added on on top of time added on for the benifit of Manchester United

I'd agree the Premiership has many virtues (it must do, I'm paying through the nose for the monthly subscription), and it is undoubtedly one of the best Leagues in the world. But the greatest asset for any League, for me, has to be unpredictablility - and that is something that has been gradually eroded. The top 4 are now so far and away beyond the rest of the League, and the gap is growing. The riches of the Champions League has skewed the domestic Leagues throughout Europe, and is making them a closed shop - none so more than the Premiership.

In competative terms, perhaps the Championship is actually the best in the world. Could you confidently predict the top 4 in that league ?

If you can please PM me and I will put a tenner on it, then retire a SQUILLIONAIRE at the end of the season.

Last season Charlton were supposed to walk it, good squad, Bent money plus parachute payments meant they were well equipped financially, and they were GASH. Hats off to Hull, Brizzle and Stoke for getting where they did in terms of play-offs/promotion.
