If the U/K govt was to yeild to mounting pressure for an increase in Bank Holidays ? Where in the year would you like to see one ? Do you have a name for one ? The U/K trails far behind it's European partners, with a total of 8 (eight) B/Hs a year. :bigwave:

Let's have another one in May

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
The Friday of the Old Trafford Test (which should ensure 24 hours of continuous drizzle - especially from supporters of the "real" county champions)

Think a winter one would be good but please don't let is be ruined with football fixtures.

The first Friday in July has a nice, lazy, long-weekend, sunny sound to it.

Where do we rate in terms of annual leave? I suspect the UK is weeks ahead....

Just found this
The TUC has repeatedly called on the government to:
Three new bank holidays created to bring the UK up to the EU average.

A statutory right to be paid to take bank holidays off.

Those who do have to work on bank holidays, to be given a choice between being paid double time, or normal time plus a day's paid holiday in lieu, to be taken at a later date.

It was discussed at the time for a public holiday around the 11th November in remebrance to the fallen of both World Wars and conflicts since.

I'd do away with them add them all together and give us all an extra weeks holiday when is suits you.

October - Trafalgar Day.
That would probably fit the calendar best - as has been said, there is nothing between August and December!

I want two bank holidays to be introduced, so my other preference would be late June/early July.
