My post man mark who is a season ticket holder in the south stand told me today a friend of his went to Walsall last night.

And has said that this was the worse team from Brighton he has seen for over 20 years so what went wrong last night it beggars belief that Saturday they won 5-0 and last nights performance was a disgrace.

I believe that for Russell Slade to do his job, he must bring in his own team of coach's to put his style of play into there heads.

Littlehampton,Wick actually
hmm

If you were their manager, or prospective new manager, would you accept that,or would you ask more questions? I imagine that most managers are a bit more savvy, and would want to find out more if that excuse was used. But I hear what you are saying, sadly, too many loanees have done for us I fear.

BTW, Superwife had a conversation with DK and criticised the amount of loanees we have had this season. He took the right hump, saying that he disagreed totally, and that the loan players were all as comitted as anyone to the team, and that he wouldn't take them on loan otherwise. Now I know that is what you would expect him to say, but he really was insensed about her comments.

[perhaps she should have stayed at home and made my tea]

Maybe DK and others should come and watch it from the stands.

Sad thing is, they do watch it from the stands, and hear all the booing, and moaning.

I don't know if you realise this, but most ordinary football fans who spend their hard earned cash on travelling to crappy places to watch their local football team on a Tuesday night do NOT get paid "a couple of grand a week" to "live their dream" by playing professional football.

Most people are stuggling and facing the threat of unemployment, house respossession and debt but still manage to find the time and sometimes have to save hard to follow their club up & down the country in the hope that the team win or even just put in a performance worthy of the support that travelling fans deserve.

Last night you were not worthy of wearing a tesco's carrier bag, let alone a Brighton & Hove Albion shirt and that you not only let yourselves down, but also the whole of Sussex, Brighton & Hove and most importantly of all the hard working supporters who travelled to Walsall to watch one of the most inept performances of the season.

If you do not wish to have the honour of playing for a club with a proud tradition of employing players who play with their heart on their sleeve, then I suggest you put yourself on the transfer list or return to your parent club.

You may think this is harsh, but please remember that we as supporters pay your wages and we as fans, who will be around alot longer as supporters than you will as players, deserve better.

If you honestly care about the supporters then as a gesture of goodwill, club together and reimburse all of those BHA fans their admission prices for last night and promise that against Scunthorpe on saturday, you will play with the pride and passion we expect you to play with as a BHA player and that any supporter should expect for travelling the length & bredth of the country to watch the club they've supported all their life!
This is the best post of all time. Well written and from the heart, all of our hearts !!!!!!!!!:albion2::albion2::albion2:

Dont we all remember the last time we played Walsall! that for me was one of the worse games I have seen losing 0-1 to 9 men. Then 4 days later wham bam thank you mam we beat Man City. Methinks they realise they played badly and will turn it on at scunthorpe.

I didn't go last night but I did go down to Bristol a couple of weeks ago where by all accounts they played better......

As I've said in another post I'm hoping last night was just a one off that wont be repeated again under Slade, I know we were poor last night and looked nothing like the team that won 5-0 a couple of days earlier but Walsall did'nt look like a team that had lost 5-0 a couple of days earlier either.

My take on the players who really care:

Kuipers
Whing
Elphick
Virgo
Forster

Not sure about Fraser?

The rest I have my doubts. Given time, I'm sure McNulty would be in the list above (if he ever plays for us again).

El-Abd heart and soul into the game. It's just he's not very good.

Methinks Granny Weatherwax speaks the truth. This season we have had far too many hangers on, ie Loanees. However they play they get their wages. They are loanees because their parent club is not sure about them. So they get their chance to strut their stuff at another club but hey, if it does not work out they wil return to their parent club, no harm done.

Compare that with the likes of Forster who has admitted he does not want to be relegated because it will affect his income and standard of living. We see most weeks that it is the likes of Forster, Whing, El Abd, Elphick, Virgo etc who are the ones despite their limited talent give 100% in effort. Players do not have the burning desire for a club that supporters do, but what they care about is having a job and a reasonable income in football terms. As I expect us to be relegated, how many of the current loanees will give us a look next season? I predict zero as they will not fancy division 4 wages.
It's players who have contracts that will play for a club. Loanee could not care less.

Ok, I maybe be going slightly over the top but I am convinced that we have got far too many loan players this season instead of building up "our" team.

They should know, though, that is WE get relegated, they got relegated.

If all they want from football is an easy ride and a paycheck, then they aren't much use to themselves either, in this practically limitless sport.

We've had so many loan players this season because Adams bought badly in the close season. Not one single player that he signed last summer has a had much of a positive impact on the team.

I thought playing sport for a living was more of a calling, much like nursing and teaching is.
If it were me, I would not be satisfied until I was captain of England, or die trying.
The reason for playing is to be the best there is, isn't it? why else does Tiger Woods get out of bed.
