The media are having there annual fun wiht the A Level results but to me they were still pretty hard. I got three C's which got me to Brighton Uni so I am very happy. How did everyone else do? Congratulations if you got what you wanted

Congratulations! Well Done!

At the start of college, I was predicted 2 Bs and an A. By the end I managed 2 E's. Could have gone to uni (why? those grades sucked) but worked instead.

Go to uni and have a great time. I missed out on the 50pence pints?:(

I was offered a place at uni and only had to get two E's so didn't work as hard as I could have with my A-levels, easily got the two E's and had four great years at uni. With regards to 50p pints they were always watered down!! One pub offered 25p a pint for an hour and went up by 25p an hour for the next three hours. If you drank enough you could get well wasted (obvious statement I suppose).

Congrats on the results Matt, forget all the fees and loans, just bloody well enjoy it.

What did you need Turkey? Which one did you get the D in?

You can appeal (a lad on the news got a U last year and got his paper re-marked)

I got a D in English Lit which is gutting because im really good at it. I was predicted a B. Problem was I got a sickness bug during my exams - I had to leave my English exam and they work it out on predicted grades, mocks and other paper. Really disapointed.

If you need the grades ask for a remark if your college tutors agree. You've got nothing to lose. BBD is not bad, I was predicted ACC and got CCD in the end (the predicted A ended up being a D :lolol: )

I know it's not bad. Still disapointed though. Not sure what i'm going to do. Need some time to think through my options. Wasn't going to Uni this year anyway.

The place where it will cost u is grad schemes, most require 24 points minimum.

Only the cream of the crop need 24 points. Most of my mates got £20k+ jobs with grades of CDE and below. Its all personality an' all that. If you're an intelligent fella with lower grades, and with a hard-working mentality then they'll take you every time.

Saw a figure that said only 15% of students get into graduate schemes anyway... whereas 10 years ago students were headhunted :(

ok no need for showing off Wilts ;)

I got in a grad scheme at LLoyd's that required 20 points, but yes you've gotta interview well and at the end of the day once you've got a degree that is all that counts.
