Oh the days of footie with the doc eh dwayne!

I got CCD and not doing too badly at the moment, I've found that no employer really cares about education, its all about experience these days

Not the real one
Got DDE way back in 1994. Was predicted BCD so was slightly pissed off, but had only just started to discover Nightclubs, Snakebite and Bongs! Think I did pretty well really. Went to Varndean college and my mate at the time Steve P, was predicted CCB and ended up with all near misses!!! HA HA... Made me feel slighty better. Until my mate Nick opened his papers and Got AAB! Couldn't believe it! He had done no work aswell (or so I thought), don't you just hate thoughs people. Still my best mate and Albion buddy. Ahhh.

Currently manning the madhouse that is the clearing system at MMU.
Congratulations to all who have worked hard, as someone who writes 'A' level questions, degree exams and those for the professional accounting qualifications I would say don't believe what you read in the media about dumbing down.

Cheers Turkey, I got A in Maths, and B in Further Maths, Geography and Physics. Been done the pub this morning, football at lunch (tricky after drinks) and off down to the event later(i think).

The system can be a little unfair though, a friend was aiming for maths at Cambridge and he's amazing, ie 95% on all tests, got all A's but didn't get in because they made him do extra tests aimed at Eton people.

why do so many people want to go to Uni?
run up a huge debt
get a qulification which is probably no good to you
find out that 50 people are going for exactly the same job as you!

too many people are going to Uni, we need more people to go into the construction industry, plumbers, carpenters etc
the government have said there is a major shortfall.

its all very well saying i have 3 A levels and a degree but think hard about where it will get you in the end.

My daughter wasn't even made an offer from Cambridge despite the fact that she had done her Maths A level in one year and already attained an A.
She applied to Nottinghame Uni and eventually gained 5 grade A A levels (Maths Further Maths Physics Chemistry and General Studies)

She then gained a 2nd Honours in Mathematical Physics

I haven't got a clue what I want to do but I know I would be no good at building, plumbing etc. Better off using my brain (in no way suggesting practical workers are thick)

seriously, go see a careers advisor, so many people get pushed into uni as its the easy option .

if i can stop one person going to uni who dosnt need to go i will have a warm glow inside me! (oooh Matron!)

The Sun pissed me off today. A report about 'soft options' claiming Media Studies was an easy A-Level. I worked so hard in that. It's very very hard. I ended up with a B although had been on target for an A all year. :(

i'll give you an example of someone going to uni who didnt really need to.

My girlfriend went to uni ,got a 2.1 in criminology, left uni went travelling for a year. now she has a job as a trainee accountant
she could have gone straight from college to do this and be on mega bucks now and no debt!

her ology was limiting her choice of job.
