after crashing into an oncoming car, not stopping, going to a night club where he is arrested. the legal drink drive limit is 35, he was 65. He also had no insurance, and was fined just over a grand.

Acting like a stereotypical footballer, in other words.

Maybe this is why he isn't playing regularly in the first team anymore?

I trust he'll be released at contract expiry?

Don't want him here, he could take Martin with him too.

That last comment is very unfair. I know he's no manager, but he has helped bring some excellent young players through.

That's a bit harsh. The bloke did something stupid but who his hasn't at some time or another ? It's just that he got caught and now he's being punished. As far as I'm concerned like politicians, what they do in their private lifes is up to them. It has nothing to do with their professional lives unless it carries over into same.

Actually, it is the sort of thing that can result in the contract being torn up. Gross misconduct etc. The Albion, should they wish to exercise it, have a good case for kicking him out now. It is unlikely - but don't expect him to play too much more this season.

That's a hell of a blow coming just two days after Leon was banned from riding his bike on the pavement

WADR, that is utter bollocks.

The vast majority of us have not indulged in so stupid as drink driving - let alone excessive drink driving. What he did in his private life did affect someone - they had an injured neck as a result of it. I would be EXTREMELY pissed off if that was me. The bloke could have been killed. We are dealing with three quarters of a ton of machinery which can kill in an instant.

Drink driving is ALWAYS avoidable. Adam Hinshelwood acted like an utter wanker. No excuses.

I cannot believe that anyone on here can be a drink-driving apologist. Just incredible.

It could have been worse, see Lee Hughes case or this thread I have just started.

Someone needs to tackle this obvious problem with footballers.

This is the usual case of Highlighting the players problems, it's not just a footballers problem its STILL a social problem - you cant just target footballers.

Codnor was sent to prison for drugs (cocaine was it?) he was not sacked and was back into the team.

I think you are taking your dislike of his uncle and placing it on him.

He will, if coached right and having had too many coaches recently that does not help, he will become a very useful team player.

the problem here is to much money to early with little responsibility.

Sorry, but I think being twice over the limit, driving without insurance, crashing and leaving the scene of the accident is more the "stupid" and whilst everyone on here has made mistakes I doubt most are of this scale. I think that he's a very lucky boy that he hasn't been kicked out of the club already.

No you're the one talikng bollox. For several reasons. How many 'ordinary people would lose their jobs for a drink drive charge ? Unless they drive for a living nobody. Where did I act lke an apologist ? ANd would also ask, how many on here know that at some time or another they haven't driven with excess alcohol in their systems ? Typically the morning after the night before, many have done that whilst being over the legal limit.

Hinch was a very stupid boy, that's not in any doubt but spare me the sanctimonious attitude.
