Going to ramp up from around 5AM here in RH20. Happily WFH all day so will watch the mayhem from indoors...

One of my mates, storm '87 had an MG convertible and a flat in Brunswick Square. Hearing slates coming off the roof, he decided to get up in the early hours and moved it to the other side of the road.

Tree fell on it, True story :lolol:

In '87 I went for a wander post storm locally, saw a car in a garage, doors blown open with a complete chimney block of some 6'x4'x4' sitting in the middle of it.

A mate in Hamburg just sent me this vid if the commuter ferry on the river there. Crazy.

The flying wheelie bin up north is quite impressive too.

Scary ! if you ship enough water over the bow you can get top heavy and just plough down in to subsequent waves....getting more bow heavy and... you get the rest.

It literally is the calm before the storm tonight in London, very mild out.

Same here, very quiet and very still. Going to be very different by morning.

Still relatively calm here in Brighton. Gusts aren't that bad, cat isn't running around like an idiot so it can't be that bad yet, wind freaks her out.

Red watch now issued covering South East England. Should have been issued yesterday evening in my opinion.

Brighton factually.....
Hartington Road 3/4 the way up and the wind is gently picking up, you know the kind, the sound that you think you can hear the sea from here.
I’d be pretty worried if I could see the sea from here though….
Think I’ll go to work early along the coast road, I might stop and take some photos if the sea is crazy enough.
