Ignoring the massive straw man point at the end, I just don’t think rain would ever put me off going to an away game I had a ticket for.

Snow is different. If I had a ticket for Newcastle away and saw on the news that snow was causing havoc in the north-east I’d think twice about driving, for sure. I used to live in the north and well remember the near-annual chaos on the roads. But rain in Bournemouth? Come off it.

It is exactly my love for the Club and a desire to support them in any way I can that makes me feel gratitude for fans that can get to away games because I no longer can.

The implication that I don’t think the players need or appreciate away support — a claim I never got close to making or even hinting at. Do I particularly appreciate the efforts of people travelling to Bournemouth? My emotion is more akin to envy at having enough points to go, rather than congratulation TBH. It’s one I always earmark but never get close to qualifying for. It sells out to the top tier of ST holders.

Yes, that was the point really - I wonder how many decided not to go because of Storm Bert and hazardous driving conditions.

After we were reduced to 10 men I was more concerned that they were going to raise their game and Storm Bart by raining shots on him in the hazardous playing conditions.

I think you had better put me or the thread on ignore - me expressing my feelings of gratitude for fans who are able to give the club the sort of support I can not seems to be offending you or pushing some buttons for you.

Accept that gratitude may not be the only emotion available for local away games. ‘Lucky people’ is more my response. Tempered with an acknowledgement that in order to get into the top tier of STH points someone needs to have put the money and hard yards into travelling away over a number of years. More than I’ve been able to do. Good luck to them.

oh dear - I simply made a thread to express my personal gratitude for the fans who attend away games - it is what I felt and what I chose to express and post on NSC for personal reasons.

If you personally don’t want to accept my gratitude for your commitment to away games or appreciate my gratitude for the support you give the lads ( As I said, being disabled now means I no longer have a ST or can travel much so I feel those that do, carry my support vicariously) then that’s fine too.

I appreciate that there are feelings of ‘envy’, even ‘resentment’ with some fans ‘points harvesting’ the easy to get to local away games and the way tickets are distributed etc, lbut I was just expressing my feelings of gratitude for everyone who attends away matches - ( you included) because I no longer can - and it clearly can make a difference to performances and the lads appreciate it - so for that I am grateful - the other issues are an entirely different discussion.

It was a terrible drive down and even worse coming back. Took it easy at 50mph. Luckily most other drivers were doing the same.
Was soaked even before I got in the ground and it didn't help having to queue for 15 minutes to get my ticket due to the club's draconian away ticket policy with one person behind the glass.
Inside the ground the rain did ease for some of the game but then got heavy towards the end of the match but the excitement of hanging on distracted that.
At the end the fist bumps from the players really made the day especially JPVH who was awesome today.
A great away day victory not spoiled by Bert.

Two pat downs and an id check on the way in. Row B tickets (essentially roofless). But great noise despite the weather and a privilege to watch this special team of ours.

Bmuff fans almost silent, as they have been each time I've been to the Vitality Cress Stad.
