yea, they asked me a while ago to send them pics of me connected with CCFC and asked me a few questions. it's a feature of cardiff supporters, in every programme is one. usually fans who live very far away, or have a story to tell. so i guess it was my turn this time. and as it was the BHA programme, they prob think the pic of us 3 is appropriate...

but i dunno, will see it 2morrow myself. sent in 10 or so pics, dunno which ones they choose

my first away game was Charlton during the festive season in 84, only a couple of seasons outside the top flight we hardly had any support at all.
Eh? That was my second ever away game and I recall we had loads there. We won 1-0 and scored after about 45 seconds didn't we?

i think i was at that game - didn't we have a stand of seats to ourselves behind the goal and pretty much fill it...?

very unusual to be in the seats in those days - good atmosphere...

I remember it well!

Jan 1st 1984 11:30 kick-off.

Very heavy hangover as I didn't get home until 04:30 and up again at 08:00 to catch the train.

Pay on the gate £3.00 to sit or stand, so sat as I was 'ill'.

Gary O'Reilly? scored after 2 mins at the other end!

Mr Blobby, I can remember times in the mid to late 80's when our away support was even less than the 400/500 you mention, one of my first away games was Sunderland at Roker Park, there were less than 50 and a game at Man City in about 1988 when there can't have been more than 200.

from The History Man on the mailing list....

Tuesday, 19th November 1996. This is what I wrote for the Albion Almanac:

"On a foul day, and with snow falling in the Home Counties, a small contingent of Albion fans travelled to Swansea to witness a return to the form which saw the team lose sixteen consecutive away games before victory at Hartlepool. In the first half 55 Albion fans were counted. This figure was boosted to 58 for the second half when three fans were reoved from the seats near David Bellotti for abusing him verbally throughout the first
period. But whichever figure is used, it was thought that it was the lowest turnout at an away game since at least 1970. That was the opinion of Graham Talbot, who'd been to every Albion game, home and away, for the last 26 years until he boycotted the Mansfield game (but he did apparently get inside the Goldstone somehow after the start). With so few supporters
present, it was difficult to make our presence felt, but the stand roof helped amplify the noise as if there were more supporters present."

We lost 1-0 to leave us three points behind Darlington at the bottom of the Football League and nine behind Hereford.
