Chelsea exchange tickets were 65 quid each. It’s clearly difficult to shift tickets anyway, let alone at that price.
Except they did shift quite a few of them at that price as the matchday tickets all sold out. (not all of those would have been adults at £65 ofc)
But yes shifting them again via the exchange for a Friday 8pm - didn't happen.

Including swathes of ESL and WSL ST hogs who rarely turn up and can't be arsed to use the Exchange  .

Hopefully the club's clampdown deals with this.
I think the ESL tickets on the exchange just don't sell very well - no-one would actively buy a seat there really other than if with a kid!

The exchange is 65 with no concessions so 130 quid for a parent and child.

How dare you be so condescending ! Iam 76 years old , have supported the club for 60 years, through thick and thin. I have relocated to Dorset (my choice) and am a sth in ESL, but time and tide waits for no man. With the drive up being a pain in the arse, have finally cancelled my ST from next season. Does that make me a 'Hog' , whatever that means ? Furthermore, if I can't make a match due to the stupid kick off times, my seat always goes on the Exchange .

The club obviously know it was listed
Yes they do, but other fans don’t. They just moan on NSC without knowing the reasons.

I’ll give you one instance- a fan died in August, his family wanted to use his ticket for the remainder of the season as there is no refund, but the club refused. The ticket would be listed by the club but a single ticket doesn’t always get picked.

The club have recently taken action to stop the forever no shows doing so, well documented on a couple of threads here. It must’ve been a problem and unfair on those who want to go or wants ST’s.

I use the exchange too, it works well.

If true , pretty poor show by the club in the circumstances

I was surprised to get an email from the club 'telling me off' for not going to the Chelsea league game (the only home game I've missed this season). I didn't list it on the Exchange because it was too late. I live in London and set off very late for the match because of work. I missed my connection and realised I wouldn't be able to get there until well after kick off. It was also freezing and I was feeling a bit ill, so I turned round, went home and watched it on the telly (and regret it now because I missed the goal of the season!)

So there are genuine reasons for not listing on the exchange and on the rare occasion I have done in previous seasons my seat has never sold.

I think many of us have been through exactly as you describe - I know I went through a leaner spell of attendance when my children were younger.

Having a young family brings both financial and time pressures.

Kids are only young once, but there'll always be more football matches - of that we can be certain. The Albion will always be there for you when time and money permit.
Spot on and would add that attending the 'odd match' became pretty unattractive as well so I had a complete bank for a long time.

For next season the season ticket T&C state that if a season ticket holder dies the ticket can be cancelled or shared under the sharing system until the end of the season when it will be cancelled.

Also for this season the T&Cs state a pro-rata refund will be issued to the holders estate for both lump sum and direct debit payees for unused tickets. The person who was told no refunds should definitely contact the club quoting 3.9 and 3.10 of the 2024/25 Men’s Team Season Ticket Terms and Conditions.

It’s obviously changed as the family I knew about was during the Championship years.
