Brighton factually.....
Its the second part of an evening double-header, as BT have our game vs Everton at 5.30. Its all part of an ENTIRE festival of Bank Holiday football...

12.30 - Stockport v Hartlepool (Sky)
12.30 - Tranmere v Northampton (Sky)
15.00 - Millwall v Blackburn (Sky)
17.30 - BHA v Everton (BT)
20.00 - Notts v Soton (Sky)

Football for the armchair masses.
Not strictly speaking if you have skin in the game, I never sit in the armchair at home if I am watching the Albion, I tend to pace around the lounge, with my arms crossed or flailing around like an epileptic hillbilly, and I occasionally disappear into the kitchen if the opposition have a corner or are on the attack, and hope I don't hear cheering !

Armchair supporter I am not.

Ah, yes, but no.....
1: do the club get a say when the match is broadcasters live on tv ?
2: would the club actually rather have families with 2, kids in tow, or adults paying full whack ?
1) not noticeably
2) Kids, easier to police, easier to brainwash and they extort the difference in the ticket fee at the sweetie stalls and in the tat (err sorry club) shop

don't recall where i heard it, but "traditional" wed night games used to be 7.30 in most towns - and Brighton was 7.45 due to a high level of commuters

traditional = 70's / 80's
I'm pretty sure Goldstone evening games were 7.30 with the odd one pushed back to 7.45. Only relying on my memory though!

Of all the inconveniences to the paying fan, dictated by the TV companies, this really doesn't seem a bad one.

7.45pm has always been the traditional evening KO time. Getting home 15 minutes later isn't really a big deal - and for people rushing to get there after work (in my case 70 miles away) the extra 15 minutes there is no bad thing.
7.30 was always the traditional ko time back before live TV. So much better for getting at least an hour in the pub or home if up early. That extra half an hour could see the night off nicely. To be honest I'd be happy with a 6 or 7 o'clock kick off.

Ha ha. When we were close to promotion in 2017, QPR were attacking with just a few minutes to go, we were leading 2-1 (Pognoli's wonder goal) I couldn't bear it any longer and went into the back garden. A few minutes later, my husband came out, and I said did we win, he started
'Well, QPR got a corner and.....'

How I didn't commit murder there and then, I don't know! :lolol:

come on, 15mins isn't a deal breaker for the kids. either you accept a late, well after 10pm bed time, or they dont go to evening games.

I am not on about children's bedtimes, but would a club prefer adults, paying full whack and beer etc or kids at half price and bag of sweets at the games ?

Many thanks. For some reason I'd assumed that our kick-off was at 8, and so I was perplexed by your post. You've shown me (one of) the error(s) of my ways.

Most welcome sir. Our KO times are absolutely all over the shop this month.

Everton 5.30
Arsenal 4.30
Newcastle 7.30
Southampton 2.00
City 8.00
Villa 4.30

Thats why I cherished that Saturday 3pm vs Wolves. Could easily be 5-6 months before we see another one of those.

I think originally TV companies liked 8pm kick-offs as it gave them more opportunities for advertising products/services (aka gambling) post-watershed.

If people are moaning about this now, wait until we're having the last home game "lap of appreciation" at 22.30 on a Wednesday night after the Man City game
