Adam Hinshelwood signing looked very odd, as it was Adam Virgo.
Poor Hinsh. He looked a real talent for a short period. He could still have been playing for the albion now if it wasn't for injury

Yeah that Adam Hishelwood signing did look a bit odd, though from what I saw he actually acquitted himself okay in that dogshit league.
Going even further back you could question the Mark Beeney transfer, him of the sliced goal kick, to Leeds for a questionable amount of cash.

Wasn't that a hastily cobbled together move engineered between manager friends so that Brighton could pay their VAT bill and stave off a winding-up order?
Didn't Strachan buy a player from us when McGhee was our manager in 2005 for £1.5m but hardly played him at Celtic. Seemed a bit odd at the time.

Thirty odd years ago there was a chairman and manager of a certain North London club ( between Borehamwood and Enfield ) who had no qualms in thrashing out their personal terms, before it ever got round to discussing the player involved. I knew people who had dealings with them and their behaviour was common knowledge then. The chairman used to deal in cash only and is no longer with us. The manager is still very active in football today.
So he now says he is lying and made it all up, will Allardyce be reinstated and the Barnsley bloke too ?
Unlikely, they were both caught on video. The 8 were only named by the agent, as far as we know.

Yes.
It was either a winding-up order from Inland Revenue or Customs and Excise. The club was hovering on the brink and were only hours away from closure. He was the only asset that could have realised the sort of money needed. Mark Beeney saved the club.
