Not the real one
Romain Vincelot's just been told the news.

He was delighted at getting to spend more time on the bench.

I think Vincelot is a cracking player. Sublime football at times. Great news about 7 subs, I can't wait for the season to start. Just have to wait for that load of bollocks 'the Olympics' to finish.

How did we ever cope in the early 80's when you were only allowed one sub?...I think Villa won the league in 82 and only used 14 outfield players all season.

The game was slower back then? I would assume with the quality of pitches would play a massive part in the game getting bogged down?

I could be talking out my ass though as I wasn't alive to watch football in the 80s!

You right the game was slower. But it was a lot rougher as well and some of the pitches in the middle of winter didn't have a blade of grass on them. That's when it was a man's game lol...

I think he's a fantastic squad player and he will be a certainty for the bench considering his versatility.

Has the Argus said anything on this yet ? Maybe they could do a piece on how it will affect certain fringe players - say JFC and and that young Norwegion lad.

Good news.

Fair do's. Just thought I'd heard, or read somewhere that Liverpool did it as well.

They may well have done as well. Let's face it players used to play with broken bones in those days. Some used to have quarter zone injections just to get through games and now they are near cripples because of it and they weren't paid a tenth of what today's pre madonna's get. I'm not saying the game was better then, it clearly wasn't but the player's earn't their corn and the fans got value for money (wasn't it about 50pence to stand in the North stand)....Seems the game has turned full circle. The fans gets striped, while the player's coin it in these days.
