Good grief, our kit was truly terrible - what year was that? Who else in the history of world sport decided that stripey shorts were were a good idea?

Well yes. That's why I said "I don't care about...". But I'm glad you enjoy it and some others do. Although what's the difference in relative terms between the FA Cup and the League Cup? They're the same competition essentially at different times of the year

Non League teams like Barnet getting through to the fourth round.

Pretty sure that was January 93. I was the ex-Mrs G: we'd been together for just over a week and, the early glow of a relationship, came to the match with me. She didn't accompany very often after that

Anyone beatable at home. Why not go for it this year? We have the squad to cope.
If anyone here tells me an FA Cup final wouldn't be a dream then Premier League, Sky etc wins, and football is ****ed.
I would love it, LOVE it.

Home to Pompey please.

Portsmouth at home might be fun. They'd get 4,500 tickets as allowed, but would DEMAND 10,000 tickets what with them being absolutely massive (even bigger than Sheffield Wednesday) and their fans would cry when they didn't get them. That smelly tit with the bell would be refused entry because he tried to bring in a flask and then we'd then absolutely spank them 3-0 or something, thus hammering their confidence and hopefully derailing their promotion bid. So either that or Gillingham away for the reasons discussed please.

Knowing our luck, we'll end up with a loseable away draw at a run-of-the-mill Prem/Champ team: so away to Watford, QPR or Bristol City then.

This. All of it. In spades.:lolol:

Tiny shorts? Stripes? Does your bum look big in that? Yes, yes it does. I can take or leave homoerotica, but the sight of slightly unfit men with bad haircuts and skinny arms in tiny striped shorts, trotting about in front of lagered-up lads in horrible catalogue clothes.....sorry, it's a no thanks from me. No thanks.

I'd like 26 BARNET or 16 NEWPORT COUNTY.

I'd also like the big six to all play each other, assuming Liverpool get through, with all the teams around us getting difficult championship ties that go to a second leg.

Indeed the pompous twats would be the one I would want ,living in the Chichester area I often come across them .
They are amazing fans as when they were languishing at the bottom of the league they were conspicuous by their absence, now they are doing well they have gained their voices and general wallyness and can take on the world again, and the FA cup is a foregone conclusion along with being the best and biggest club on the south coast FFS .

In order of preference

Barnet Away
Pompey Away
Oldham Away
Gillingham Home or Away
Palace Home or Away
Millwall Away

Some potentially epic match ups and some equally boring possibilities.

Worst sides to face would be any other Premier league team, as we're facing them all twice this season and it's quite likely we'll be facing sixteen of them next season too. I'd say anyone above Swansea in the Championship could potentially come up next year so none of them either please.

Variety is the spice of life after all.
