Why the f*** has the tribunal said they can pay half now and half in 6 months? That's a load of SHIT.

Say Leeds go up and they sell him - 2mill will be about right I reckon, so that's another 400k.

I think we'll be happier in a couple of years' time.

That would be very nice but whereas we always end up paying on sell ons other clubs find ways around it to avoid paying us, so Dick best not put that in his budgets for the next few years :lolol:

Six months really ain't worth getting worked up about :smokin:

Yep, it's a good deal, it will be £750,000, which is a fair compromise, as Dan will only get better and will play those games over the next couple or so years and Leeds will be promoted.

Well done DK and Martin Perry, 2 youth team players that have netted at least £2M. A rocky pre-season? So what! Where's your faith. First season following the Albion or something? I've said it before and I'll say it again. Roll up for the Albion rollercoaster. Get on, sit back for a gut-wrenching 10 month ride until the last minute of the last game. And relax......Season after season, never dull, full of drama. Have faith in the Albion management & board, they've delivered again and again against ridiculous odds. Proud of them all.

Would I be right in thinking, the cash per 20 game part, will just be meaningful matches, league & cup??

Well, it's a better deal than we got for the last tribunal transfer of one of our players - £75k for John Robinson to Charlton, now that was a PROPER SHAFTING!!!

Only just seen the news, but this looks like a an absolutely fantastic deal for an out of contract player who most people on here didn't even rate.

I think we had a poll and the consensus was £450,000 ?

.. and if he proves most people wrong and Leeds decide to cash in - there's a 20% sell on clause.

I'm happy

The 20% sell-on clause and the money when Leeds get promoted are the best parts of the deal IMO. If it was just the transfer fee we would've been a bit hard done by but with these bits I think we've done ok - after all the purpose of this under-24s compensation rule is that the club responsible for the player's development is rewarded and we will be if he continues to develop.

For a player who no longer wanted to remain at Brighton we're better off without him and we've got a pot of cash now, a pot of cash in a little while and potential future pots of cash, overall I'm more than happy with the deal :)

Isn't it normal procedure for clubs NOT to pay all the money up front? (maybe it's just the Prem).

I'm pretty sure we haven't given all the money up front to Bury for CKR!

Another good deal. I wonder whether the same people who think we didn't get enough are the same ones who said he's crap.

Anyway, some cash now, and some more for the January transfer window.

Quite frankly, anyone who doesn't want to wear the stripes can f*** off in my book. Add to that all the mistakes he made last season, I for one am glad he's gone. Yes we will miss losing a first team player but the £750k and 20% sell on should more than make up for that loss. I think it's a result.
