Should these tanks be banned from town centres? Or school runs when you have an 8 seater for one kid? Or heavily taxed? Or do you like them on our roads?

Don't give a toss. As long as my H2 has a .50cal mounted on the roof, you can all drive what you want.

That's rather a good idea - like qualifying for a modified vehicle if you're disabled.

We own two! Well, I think my car gets called a 4 x 4 I'm not really sure.

I drive it almost always, though I do have another car if I am out without the offspring.

looks like you've started something. Count the votes and the total :lolol:

To me most of these drivers do seem to be wankers.

Around here its the vehicle to get for the black caribbean families, though they tend to get the real cheap models, which have as much off road capability as a scaletrix car,

As you all know I cycle around London and these 4x4 can be bloody dangerous as the drivers and the size of the vehicled protrude into the cycle lanes.

I think only a tax on fuel guzlers is fair:salute:

I have a 4x4, or an SUV as they like to be called these days, its no bigger than a estate car just higher up so not really a beast of a motor. I think its fully justified considering the stuff that has to get crammed into it, like 1 big kid and 1 medium kid, 2 dogs, football 'stuff', 16 filled to the brim Sainsburys shopping bags, oh yeah and one rather large tank in the passenger seat!!

More tax. The current system of that only has two bands should be expanded to have over 1.5, 2.5, over 3.5 etc. The more you polute the more you pay.

Yes. I've been driving for 18 years - currently a 14 year old Escort XR3i Cabrio. Why do you ask?

Just curious. I hate Merc/BMW/Lexus/Porsche 4x4s as they are not pukka.

I own a disco that we use for pulling a horse trailer and taking large groups of children around, it is safe. Don't drive it often though. One of my other cars is a 2.8i capri which is much more fun and 20 years old.

I think the wanker comment is a bit over the top. Most of the SUV drivers I've seen seem to be tiny women, often doing the school or a sainsburys run, who need to make themselves feel bigger and more secure on the road by driving a Hummer sized tank. Misguided ? yes, wankers, no.

Outright ban for anyone living in a town centre or deemed to live in non-rural areas.

Outright ban of any flashy 4x4- Porsce, BMW.

Any 4x4 driver caught using a mobile phone top banned for life from driving.

At least 50% on tax.
