Quite like this playing test cricket like a 50 overs game. Much more fun.

Our run rate of about 5 an over (compared to about 2.5 for NZ) does mean we get more run scoring opportunities whilst the ball stops moving about in these middle overs.

Irrespective of how it ends up, you have to admire England's commitment to this attacking style of play.

Test 20 cricket here… from 56-6, Baristow 88 from 81, Overton 70 for 77. The test purists probably hate it but can’t deny it’s entertaining. Astonishing stuff.

Just goes to show if the openers had seen off that new ball spell the runs are there to be had.

If these two score five more runs, it will be England's highest 7th wicket partnership in England - and England's second highest ever

So am I right in saying that England have only got 6 overs left to bat ?

209* for the 7th wicket partnership.

England's highest and the 17th highest all-time.

Another 16 runs and they'll be in the top 10.

Fair play to Overton. Did nothing to change my mind about his ability to bowl at Test level, but that was a magnificent effort with the bat :clap2:

The most curious thing..
The fact Bairstow and Overton smacked the ball all over the park, doesn't disguise the fact that our first three are abysmal.

And Stokes has the brain of a peanut sometimes.
