I’m not sure how there is any suffering. He either signs a huge contract with Brighton or a huge contract with Chelsea. Are you looking to ‘free’ him ?
Yeah I think Levi will be just fine whatever happens this summer. He will be a first team player for a premier league team with a nice pay rise, just maybe not in Europe next season.

Colwill has played around 15 premier league games. White had played a full season and been POTS at Leeds.

Levi is likely to still have a value in 3/4 years time but anything over £40m would seem a lot
White was 23 when we sold him, Colwill has not long turned 20 and to me already looks like he is going to be a superior defender to White if he isn't already. Colwill is the real deal and will be England's first choice CB in a couple of years if not sooner, I would have no issue if we had to pay £50m for him now.

Mansfield Woodhouse, actually.
Yes, I agree. I don't think that there will be any "official swap" deal in the works but lets say that Chelsea are keen on a Brighton player (for this example and all of our feelings for Moises, we'll use Sanchez), it would make a lot of sense for both clubs accounts to pay a premium for those players. Chelsea are in dire FFP trouble.

If for example, Chelsea did want Sanchez, but needed to pull a large profit from a deal, it would make sense for them to pay £10m over what we'd charge another club for, if we paid £10m more than what Chelsea would want for Levi. £40m for Levi would equate to £40m profit for Chelsea, but £30m for Sanchez on a 6 year contract would mean in the accounts those two deals would equate to a £35m profit for Chelsea this summer. Similarly, we'd be able to present that same deal (let's say we gave Levi a 4 year contract) as a £20m profit thanks to amortisation.
In that example you'd need to factor in the extra 2 million pounds of unnecessary VAT from each club.

Thing is, if that is correct his resale value will be £100 million in just a couple of years. It's a big gamble though.

Last summer was the time to sign him.
Chelsea won’t sell him to us for a reasonable price now.
For one thing, Poch will want a good look at him.
Unfortunately, we need to move on.

£100m is a way off I suspect…….current record for a LB/LCB is only what it is because of a clueless owner being rinsed by a genius
Man Utd paid £80 million for Harry Maguire 3 years ago when he was 26. If Colwill became England's first choice CB for the next few years then surely the fee would be higher than that?

….and now they’re reportedly prepared to pay 10m to him to **** off………..
Anyway, dunno but even Boehly might wince at 100m for a defender

This. Still stuns me that after they completely screwed us over we didn't demand more than a loan for Colwill. Naive view yes, but where was your poker stance at the time TB? Wankers

Who cares what Poch wants do you think other clubs think oh this might upset RDZ if we try to sign one of their players who’s under contract

I don’t think Moises would go to a non Champions League team which rules out Chelsea for any negotiation. ( Arsenal are the most likely destination for Moises)
I can imagine that Sanchez would go to Chelsea who are looking to offload one of their keepers. Hardly seems to help the situation if Colwill is truly ‘not for sale’.

Leave the £30M bid on the table. Do nothing else - it's take ot or leave it, Chelsea. You want a bidding war? - we don't, so trot on. You want to sell Levi to leverage a cut price deal for one of our diamonds that under FFP rules you can't splash the cash for? Same again - do one!

I'd rather see Mac (or Moises) go almost anywhere rather than scummychav Chelsea!

Just pointing out the ridiculous language you used.
FFS mate. I merely pointed out that he’d be better off here, playing with a team he knows and in a system he’s clearly enjoying, and you go all stupid over it. Nowhere was I suggesting we ‘free’ Levi, so stop putting words in other people’s mouths. Absolutely nothing ridiculous about what I said.
