How the hell did that happen??, I thought we were shithouse reading some of the threads on here :jester:

For a team who have played pretty average apart from the first game of the season, made some brilliant cock ups on the pitch, had two players sent off, lost one to long term injury, had a quiter transfer window than our non-league neighbours and been knocked out of two cup competitions in the first round - that’s not too shabby really is it?

Having completely switched off from football over the weekend, and never really looking at the table due to it being so early in the season, it did surprise me somewhat to find ourselves in a prime position in this third division..

If we had beaten Sheffield Wednesday, we'd already be top, and with a game in hand.

And if we'd held on to the win against Rochdale...............

Its going to be a very open league especially with South Coast club having a nightmare start. Teams like Peterborough on their day very good but also losing to teams like Tranmere and 5-1 to Bournemouth.
Will be amazed if we don`t make top six.

I went to see Peterborough v Cardiff in the Carling Cup the other week and Cardiff absolutely battered them, but still ended up losing 2-1. Peterborough just couldn't defend and I the only way they will be a major force in this division is if Gary Johnson gets Boyd McLean and Mackail Smith scoring more than the opposition.

I wouldn't say I'd be amazed but we've got a great chance. This weekends game could be an interesting pointer to how we'll do, they've had a good start too. If we don't beat them that'll be two possible top 6 sides we've dropped points against. If we do... happy days.

Good god, half the teams in the league are within a few points of the top...are they all asking the same question based on four or five games? :lolol:

Shouldn't have dropped those two points against Rochdale, We'd be sitting even prettier if we didn't

It's football, it happens. I'm sure every club in the league will say the same thing at one point or another. Going up is in our hands, if we win every single game this season we will finish top of the league- is a fact. We will win some, we will lose some. I'm sure it will pan out well, I haven't felt this good about a season since Zamora days..

Before we all get carried away this early in the season there are parts of our game that need improvement. Defending set pieces, dealing with opposition breakaways, better discplinary record, scoring goals from open play and from the penalty spot.
