To be honest I would have kept batting. Admittedly SA look sloppy and shattered but if we'd reached 700-750 they would have been completely demoralized.

Agreed. At least until Ali got out.

Chasing 630 for a lead instead takes the pressure off!

Of course it's extremely likely we'll win either way. But with the runs flowing as they were 750ish was easily achievable. If the SA openers play themselves in today on what looks a cracking pitch for batsmen it's not inconceivable they could avoid the follow on.

Good grief. That really is appalling. Shocking cricket from SA

He ran that like it was the last over of a Twenty20 with ten needed from three balls :lolol:

Michael Holding explained the logic. 20 wickets may be hard work to get. So you get 10 and give the bowlers a short rest while you bat again. Then bowl them out on a worn pitch. Two bites at the cherry he called. Simple.

Give Ali an over against Amla before tea. If Jimmy doesn't get him in the next couple of balls

Poor call from the umpire to be honest. That was quite a big edge to miss.

Fair point, logical for the bowlers to get a rest in those conditions.

If I say that they are going along nicely now will that cause a wicket or two to fall?
