These sanctions are only for clubs who get promoted,... clubs that stay in the Championship are subject to a trf embargo.

I wonder if that's the same trf embargo that Watford are under, you know the one that allowed them to bring in 11 new players.

If it wasn't a surprise, then why was there this sudden surge towards cost cutting? FFP has been in the pipeline for a while now, so that isn't new. I am sure TB et al were caught out by the level of losses, else there wouldn't have been this panic last year once the 8 million operating deficit was revealed.

There has been no panic. TB loosened the playing budget in January to sign Ulloa for £2 million as proof of that, hoping to gain promotion as a result.

Because of that dark night in May, we didn't succeed and that has a knock on effect on our spending capability this season, when the FFP consequences are more severe.

But I have just read those penalties, the only consequences for non-compliance is a trf embargo until we do comply. Financial penalties only apply if the team gets promoted to the prem, that penalty will be easily paid off with the Prem money,... so I believe its toothless in its current format.

It must be nice for TB now that his asset has doubled in value in just over 6 months.

Yes, I know that re promotion. I thought the Watford loophole had now been closed? FFP will be a huge test of the Football Leagues resolve so let us hope that they are up to it.

I am starting to see this economic balance being anything but, the fans are being squeezed more and more, and seemingly getting less and less since those heady days of the Doncaster game and Will popping in that late winner in front of a full house.
Hmmm maybe that's some of your problem. Hereford was a heady day. Yesterday for the first time I felt we were not a selling club. This along with the Academy coming soon means the outlook of the club is completely changing. Your gripes regarding others are understandable but we will profit from these when they are fined, even if they are promoted. I do worry about those clubs bending the rules only because the likes of Southampton and Palace who blatantly abused their debt are now getting the Premiership millions as a reward. But maybe i should focus on us not the bad accounting of others and be happy that we are a Championship side with the best stadium in the league with a great future ahead.

The money that is recovered in fines is distributed amongst the teams that do comply. So not entirely toothless.

That is the biggest success of the summer dealings. We have good quality players who cannot be poached easily now. We're getting in a loan striker to cover for the injuries and have a good strong basis on which to build our team.

I cant fault your positivity, and your point regarding us not being a selling club is well made, I am however a spiteful individual who would like to see those clubs exploiting the system, putting well run compliant clubs at a huge disadvantage, 'go to the wall' metaphorically speaking, points deductions are the only way to make the punishment fit the crime.

Palace got promoted spending no money. If it was already here Liecester would've been hit hard by FFP. You can't buy promotion and the risks are high if you fail. To me FFP just means there will b s 2 tier Championship that will have the same yoyo teams in the top half. I don't like it but that's life.

I dont disagree. When you look at how we have spent years trying to survive within the rules when others have owed so much to the taxman (a plc would've gone to the wall) it does just show that following the rules does not bring success. But it has meant we still exist.

I doubt it .. all the Udinese players they just bought I bet they got for pennies and a 100% sell on clause back to Udinese or such like.

Also Watford were supposed to be embargoes anyway due to the financial irregularities (aka fiddling) of the previous owner. They weren't supposed to be able to sign anyone until November (???) and yet they have

I suspect this will take years to iron out

A transfer embargo doesn't mean that they can't sign players but the transfers have to be referred to the League before they can go through. Not a lot of use really.

Anyone who spends his summer dreading his football team finishing mid-table in the championship is a bell end. End of story. It's that kind of person who needs to grow up

This. If anything I'm dreading the possibility of getting promoted to the 'promised land'.

Southampton repaid all their debts so I am not sure what point you are trying to make.
