That final Champions League spot is ours for the taking.

Clearly no-one else wants it at the moment.

I did offer up a choice before, there was some issue with some of the colours not being available to everyone. But happy to give it a go.

EDIT: https://nortr3nixy.nimpr.uk/show...9-20-Edition&p=9235230&viewfull=1#post9235230

Ahh yep, and I see that in that thread I suggested using symbols instead of colours as a result.

The problem as I see it:

1. Tapatalk apparently doesn't support the full range of colours (why the blinkin' F not?!?)

2. The choices that Tapatalk does support fail web accessibility contrast tests - input 00FF00 in the first colour picker, and F8F8F8 in the second to test what we get here [it's E9E9E9 for quotes, and that fails even harder].

So ... we need to either find a colour that both works on Tapatalk and works for contrast on other devices OR use a non-colour based method.

In terms of colours, might need to move away from Greens - the background colour on desktop/mobile browsers is a light grey, which means green isn't going to work unless you use a darker shade. You might get away with using a mid-blue such as #0077BB or purple (#B400FF) (needs to be light enough to not be confused with the standard near-black text colour, but dark enough to have enough contrast).

(I'll stay away from considering other web accessibility considerations such as making it screen-reader friendly for those who are sight impaired... now there's a can of worms that I suspect vB 4 isn't going to like).

Or just replace green with bold?

That is an option, except bold is being used for the Brighton row. Perhaps switch the Brighton row to a Blue colour, and use Bold for the top teams?

Can't use italic, as that gets lost in quotes (which italicise the whole quote). Could maybe use underline. If we go down that road, perhaps the red for the bottom teams could be replaced with ... nope, vB 4 doesn't support [strike]strikethrough[/strike]

I don't know why I joined this conversation - I'm quite happy with it the way it is! I'm out of here...............!

It's academic I know, but I just took a look at https://thefishy.co.uk/calc.php to test, considering who has to play who, how close we are to mathematical safety. If I'm correct, with Brentford to play both Everton and Leeds, I don't think it's possbile for all three of them to overtake our 44 points. There is a scenario where they all at least equal it, so the potential for a swing in goal difference means that we are not mathematically there yet, but if all three were to win all of their other games, the finish would be one of these six options, none of which has them all over 44 points.

Everton 47, Leeds 46, Brentford 43
Everton 44, Leeds 46, Brentford 46
Everton 45, Leeds 46, Brentford 44
Everton 47, Leeds 43, Brentford 46
Everton 47, Leeds 44, Brentford 44
Everton 44, Leeds 43, Brentford 49

It means that strangely, if 14th placed Brentford lose against 15th placed Southampton on Saturday, we'll be kicking off our game mathematically safe.

Very little separates 9th-18th. Feels like roughly that has been the way in the Prem for a few years now.

The power of the big clubs and the money from getting into Europe, I guess.

Out of interest - how come we can't catch Man U but can catch West Ham but both are on the same points ?

Edit - I'm been an idiot !
