Oh no !

This just leads to the dreaded Orange being used.

I was just curious...

It means that strangely, if 14th placed Brentford lose against 15th placed Southampton on Saturday, we'll be kicking off our game mathematically safe.

Well that cursed that. However, Burnley turn red if they don't make a second half recovery. That would confirm our mathematical safety before kick off too.

Beat United and we can adds Saints and Leeds to the red list

On further thinking... For Everton to overtake us, they need to win all 5 of their remaining games, and we'd have to lose both of ours. Currently we're on -4 GD they are on -20. To get to the points tie, it would need to go to at least -6 v -15. So there would need to be a further swing of 10 further goals across the 7 games.

If we lose both 2-0, everton can go with three 3-0s and two 2-0s. Making it -8 v -7. Due to their 5 games remaining, the GD difference isn't actually such that it would require freakishly high scores (just a freak run of wins for an Everton side that has struggled this season).

Beat Leeds and we guarantee at least matching our best ever league finish of 13th.

Awesome.
