I'm didn't vote in the poll because I had a feeling it would be close

What happens, whatever the result Trump's racism, white supremacy and lies have been vindicated.

A sad state of affairs, Britain has its problems but I hope we don't ever end up in this place

Taking back control isn't racism

Got to say am surprised as thought Trump would get trounced. Just goes to show.

Hoping he somehow gets the victory though , at least Trump stands up to the easily offended crew.

Done better than expected will will no doubt upset a few more

Confusing process though

he's probably the easiest offended, thinnest skinned president in history

I do wonder if Trump's speech was timed for the point where they thought any advantage they had over Biden was at it's maximum. It would have made sense to do it at that point, but with Trump who knows

This will run and run, it's too close to call but once again the silent masses have their say.

The polls, Twitter and the media got it wrong in the last US election, in our most recent election and on Brexit, they are no longer a reliable barometer. People who vote to the right generally don't shout about it.

We're not there yet fella.

It is not beyond the realms of possibility that Biden takes almost all of the close states still in play (Georgia, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Michigan, Pennsylvania) - which would give him a fairly comfortable win overall (obviously at the time not feeling comfortable whatsoever, but looking back at the results, it would look comfortable). That would be 319-221.

Obviously it's still closer at this stage than many would've hoped for, but it's still not yet in the realms of "massive shock" at all.

Those of us who have been paying attention prior to the election were fully aware of the early red mirage, and the late blue surge - just like in 2018. We still don't know exactly how this is going to look come the full time whistle.

Update - Biden's just taken the lead in Wisconsin. Trump is running out of options.

Yes we are.

The election is considerably closer than many expect.
Trump is currently claiming victory.
He's talking of Supreme Court.
He's discrediting mail in vote.

Which is what I said earlier, almost like he knew in the long game he is in trouble, but at the point of making his speech it looked like he had enough to win it.

Who didn't know Trump was going to pull shit? And it's looking like it might not END that close, which is ultimately what matters.

We really aren't. The result could STILL be a comfortable Biden win - therefor you may well be right, but you aren't right yet.

Which is why they were so angry with Fox's timing of their Arizona call, I suspect.
