How is it that the Indian supporters are able to hoover up all the tickets? It's not like England fans aren't ticket savvy. The Pakistan game was the same.

Simply, they care more - it's their national sport.

Even if India win today, we could could take it to a best of 3 with football, rugby or pretty much any other sport and plucky little 45M population England would thrash the 1B population behemoth...

Per capita doesn’t come into it surely. It’s just a case of total number of applications.

There is no way enough Indians entered the ballot to secure enough tickets to outnumber England fans for a match taking place in England. Seriously, every shot they show of the crowd is full of Indians in blue shirts!

The majority of applications enter a ballot. They then get drawn. The crowd will reflect affiliations.

The India v Pakistan match had 600,000 applications.

There is a lot of interest among England fans but it is much less than those who follow sub continent teams.

The organisers must be delighted as, looking at other World Cups, this hasn't always been the case.

I've been fortunate enough to see a lot of this tournament. This is wonderful for 50 over cricket. It's brought it more time.

I think you’re overlooking the fact the match is taking place in England. I understand that Indians are more fanatical about cricket etc, but that’s not enough to overcome the huge numerical disadvantage they should be at in a ballot for a match in England. Ultimately there are only 1.4m people of Indian descent living in the UK compared with 50m+ who would presumably see England as ‘their’ team. Even if you said 50% of Indians love cricket but only 5% of English people do, the numbers just don’t add up for today’s crowd to be 95% Indian.

Most Indian affiliation is to the old country. Also, the match is at Edgbaston.

A lot of England supporters love the game but may be less likely to attend. The number of folk who follow the game has fallen too.

Anyway, it's done by ballot. No profiling. It is what it is.

3/1 India to win , who is going LARGE or even MASSIVE ???

They don't often chase large totals. But they have a strong top order.

Desperate stuff now from the bottlers seemingly happy to tick along at 4 an over.

The Indian commentator on telly thinks the Indians simply got up earlier on the day they went on sale :wozza:

I'm a Blackcaps supporter so had a lot of success in the ballots. A lot of my England supporter friends applied for tickets across a variety of matches and the ballot allocated precisely NONE. England matches are invariably harder to get tickets to, yet the Indian's and Pakistanis do somehow manage it.
