My keyboard isn't fancy - it's just designed correctly. It only slightly adjusts the angle of your hands and but makes a massive difference. It cost £30

You should try one MYOB

I use a WACOM pen and tablet, but use the optional mouse.

What manufacturer is it?

Its entirely possible to be a geek and have a girlfriend. I've got one, for instance, and we're not talking a KtA style short term fling with a total munter.

So what's it like being a geek's girl/boyfriend? You must have an orgasmatron that plays mp3 AND ogg!

:lolol:

Says the main who has his sodding latitude/longitude? as has location

I dunno. I'll ask her to see does she want to make a comment....

Theres also no extra hardware required in this relationship :lolol:

It also helps if you realise I have at least two almost completely different personalities. So what you see of me isn't what someone who actually meets me nessacerily will. I love having a screwed up brain :lolol:

I like Dells as well and they seem to do fantastic deals as well.

£2,000 is a hell of a lot of money to spend on a PC. You could get a fantastic machine for half of that.

Anyway - the best advice (as I posted before)

ALWAYS spend your money on the best monitor you can buy and get a good quality keyboard and mouse. Then see what money you've got left for the system.

Look out for a ergonomic keyboard with slightly angled diamond shaped keys (not the split type). They make a massive difference to any damage you could do your hands.

Make sure the keyboard is wireless, and get a similiar wireless mouse - the optical type - no ball on the bottom.

And buy a good flat screen, 17inch TFT monitor.

SOUNDS LIKE THE ADVICE I NEED.

BASICALLY ITS FOR THE "BUSINESS". THE MONEY WILL GO ON A PC OR TO THE INLAND REVENUE. IF THERE IS A GOOD MONITOR AT A GOOD PRICE I WILL GO FOR IT. I AM NOT INTO GAMING (NO TIME WITH THE LITTLE ONE). BUT WILL USE PHOTO CENTRE, MUSIC ETC AND WORK

Looks like a good way to stop anyone messing with your machine when you're away. Wonder do they have a left-hand dominant Dvorak version :lolol: (I used to use that keyboard layout in work as the actual layout of the keys but had Windows set up as normal Irish Qwerty. Never had anyone use my machine. Its meant to be much faster to type on though)

Might get one sometime. Should probably get an ergonomic keyboard *before* I get any bad hand problems.

I did get weird pains in my right hand from my old HP laptop, and got a bit worried. Found the HDD sheild cage had been lost in the service centre and I was getting mildly electrocuted by it....

Have you tried a French keyboard?

LC m8, what are you actually going to use the machine for? Is it work or more personal use such as games.

If its just work then maybe one of the ordinary companies like Dell etc might be the way to go, but if its more personal use then tbh i would check out local computer shops that actually custom build them for you to the specs you want. If you're in South London, then there's a cracking little shop called Response IT services in Epsom. I bought my latest machine off of them 2 years ago and its a Muttsnutts system and still going strong and only paid just over £1100.

And for the love of God avoid Macs. They made baby jesus cry dontcha know

As to monitors, yes TFT's are the in thing at the moment and if its office work you'll be doing then they're the way to go and cheaper on the electric, but if its for gaming i'd still stick with an ordinary CRT monitor until the TFT/LCD technology improves.

Even as a non-Christian, thats the best Anti-Mac excuse I've heard in ages :lolol:

Also, TFT technology for PC's has equalled CRT. Any decent TFT has a rise/fall time that equals the refresh on a CRT.

Its LCD TV's that don't have the rise/fall, as the PC industry is using all the good panels.

You CAN game on a TFT now, and have been able to for a year or more.

I was getting mildly electrocuted by it....

Imagine the ugliest woman you know, and put a beard on here. Thats a total munter.

This was definately the HDD's fault, because as soon as HP sent me a new cage, it stopped nuking me.

Bit worrying that an 8GB laptop HDD needs a damn Faraday Cage on it but my 160's in my desktop don't...
