The recruitment has been a disaster. All about trying to sign players for profit over the needs of the team in the now. Havent come close to replacing Gilmour and Gross and the lack of bringing in PL ready cover at LB is pure negligence. Our CBs are nowhere near good enough either.

Fabien has to take blame but David Weir I assume in delivery of Tonys strategy is equally as culpable,

…..and we’re f**king shit.

Looks like we’ve completely thrown away our momentum.

At least we’re well run and we’ve got some foreign super fans.
Not going to dig out Hinshelwood, whose been out ages and always tries his best, but as soon as I saw that team sheet with Jack in the 6 or 8 role against some bigger physical Forest players, I questioned the wisdom.

Throughout first half it was patently clear it wasn't working and Jack was being overrun and yet nothing was done till HT.

Potter for his sins probably would've altered formation in game.

Hurzeler may get the starting formation wrong, it happens, the passive first half, non existant in game management sealed the humiliation the second half just confirmed.

Where us Chailey and the other lickers this afternoon?

How ungrateful:
Fanzone being built.
Two storey club shop.
Looking for a new WPL stadium.
Season tickets payable by DD.
1901’ers get armrests.
Nike confirmed as maker of the nylon tents.
Transport included in the cost of getting to Amex losses.

It does make you wonder if the club have taken their eye off whats really important.... like the monorail from Brighton station.

Not fair to dig the lad out, first start since his lay off, naive to say the least not to put O’Riley &/or Gomez in and around him against a top 4 side away from home

This one is on the manager.

Hid behind d the players when they came up to the away end and then turned round first to head back without acknowledging the crowd.

Not a bedwetter normally, but today was an exceptional event.

He hasn't got it.
Boring platitudes about trusting the process.
What process?
I'm not seeing a process.

All I see is slow build up play leading to 0 threat.

The players clearly don't get it.
Last chance on Saturday.

With most of them having major injury issues, so we haven’t seen any great benefit from the spend yet. Ferdi looked a hell of a good player and then gone.

Have you considered masterly inactivity?

I've not been impressed by many of the new signings. I do understand it takes time and we've had injuries.

I am now fairly convinced the managers not experienced enough to be working at this level with that many young players.

IMO we brought too many new faces in at the same time. Given the inexperience of the coach at this level, it’s added another layer of complexity to what is already a tough ask. Having said that most have taken themselves out of contention through injury.

If we’re asking our head coach to develop talent at the same time as winning football matches (we do) then I feel Hürzeler’s job has been made tougher by us timing our spending spree to coincide with his arrival. I understand why we did it, but there’s too many moving parts.

I’ve said before that you have to get to season three you can judge FH as a manager. Provided he can keep us away from the relegation zone in seasons one and two, and the club keep faith, I’ll trust the club.

It feels unnecessarily difficult though, to not only be developing players but also head coaches simultaneously. Surely at least some parts of your organisation need to be established with some kind of track record? In general the club get things right, I do wonder if hubris has set in at the top however.

Before im anywhere near 'fab out' we need to seriously invest in the defence. You can only get by for so long before a disaster happens if you dont invest in a solid foundation. Todays defence cost roughly a combined £4m.
We could have the best defence in the league: starting a game away from home against one of the in form teams with ONE recognised midfielder is arrogance. Or stupidity. Neither of which has Fab earned.

The guy is a fool.

Edit: he earned the stupidity tag today.

Who are we saying is shit from the players we bought? Its FH, they are poorly coached and set up.
This.

Who here did not think beforehand that playing one recognised midfielder against a counter-attacking unit like Forest would be anything other than a disaster? It's absolutely obvious stuff to any football fan, let alone a Premier League manager. No balance in the team at all, and it's not the first time we've fielded 6 or 7 attackers at once as if they're all going to magically dovetail together rather than just get in each other's way. As for throwing Webster up front against Everton.. League 2 stuff. Almost up there with Stuart Pearce sending David James on up front for City. It's not just a desperate move, it can only seriously hack off the players who are specialists in that position. It's difficult to see how we are progressing. Getting pumped by Forest is annoying but not the end of the world. It's the decline in performance levels and seeming unhappiness of several players that's the real worry for me.
