I sometimes do fully under 20 all the time in a 20 zone - just to see how many cars I can get queuing up and annoyed behind me.
But it does take constant speed-concentration; if I concentrate on the road ahead I always start creeping up speed when I do check on the speedometer. I do think 20 mile an hour zones are sensible in many areas, but can be slightly more of a problem if every road in an area is the same. But if they are all residential streets then it makes sense.
