no short arses needed either.

i actually think on reflection we need a hole knew midfield minus livermore,

demontagnac thornton livermore westlake

that midfield would be good and affordable.

demontagnac - prodigious talent, terrible record for discipline. Adams is the man to change that? I doubt it.

thornton - loan player who did time on the bench despite his obvious ball skill on the pitch? Questionable re. attitude.

We can look at players who would be good at their best, and could make a difference, but week in week out and over the long term?

On the face of it, we really could do with a very talented player like Zamora again. There's one I could think of, who was sitting in the East Stand a couple of weeks ago - Colin Kazim Richards. However, now that he's had some time in the limelight he'd be a big-time Charlie, unwilling to drop to league 2 level and wages.
I realize he was also temperamental under MM.

Plus someone who can take a corner would be handy

Although he generally doesn't contribute much else, McLeod's corners have looked threatening lately.

Shame in a way that it's not like that awful game the Americans call 'football' where you can bring a player on just to take a set piece, because he'd be perfect for that.

What like Cox's for Hinshlewoods goal granted he doesnt do it often enough.

That was good, but prior to that he'd taken three piss-poor efforts, a couple of which led immediately to Cheltenham counter-attacks (and, if I recall, the second of those should have resulted in Cheltenham going 3-1 up if it wasn't for their guy missing a virtual open goal).

I do not think that we need that many just another Chippy or Dodge and a back up striker who can score goals if needed.

Where do you see the evidence to back this up?

A team who have won 1 out of the last 10 games, who only had 1 recognised forward on the pitch against Luton, a team who have 1 left-back in the squad (who is not really a viable option).

You have answered the question about a striker yourself as regards the striker ie we only had one on the pitch against Luton , as indeed in most games when either Murray or Forster have been injured. I think that Whing has shown he can fill the left back spot adequately for this season. It is an acknowledged fact by virtually everybody that we need a creative midfielder hence the need for another Carpenter or Rogers to perform those duties.

Signing another goalscorer would give us the option of any 2 from 3 witha back up on the bench which is what is supposed to be happening with Fleetwood but he cannot score goals for us.

A suggestion that I thought of after reading the papers. Jason Euell a striker at Southampton, sign him on loan for the rest of the season which would solve our inability to score, put him in the shop window, and his wage is only £8k per week: if we could do a deal with Southampton to pay a % of it thus saving them money on a player they dont want.
