For man that is 'pretty clueless' I would suggest that we have argueably the best strike partnership in this division with 2 of the top 5 strikers in it. What we dont have is strength in depth as was shown when Murray was out against Bristol Rovers so we need to strengthen that department to bring in a player if the first choice is out. We have a number of defensive options, a number of midfield, although that is not bursting out with talent, but we do not have any strikers that can come on to get a goal if we are chasing one. The best options are Hart and Robinson and can you tell me that you would be confident of promotion if we had to rely on those to be our goalscorers?

This is where I can see your's and algie's points of view, Yes we need a striker because Forster and Murray aside we're pretty shit up front. But if we sign another striker we need one thats going to put pressure on Forster and Murray for a starting place.

Is 100% correct. At the moment Forster-Murray are the first two names on the team list week in and week out, what we really don't want is any complacency in the squad and a third, decent quality striker will keep these two on their toes.

Rory Fallon, Ben Burgess, Stern John, Karl Hawley, Guillam Bauza...someone like any of these would do just fine.

And how many of those strikers are available and reasonable then

I don't know, probably none of them, but this should be the type of striker in terms of quality who would complement and challenge our current front two.

In an ideal world we've had that... but how many League One sides do have three strikers of that calibre? Not many, because they want to be playing, because they cost money and it doesn't make sense to spend on a bench warmer. So realistically what you want is someone like Savage who is a bit different to what you've got, not an outstanding player but can be effective.

That is my view I woyuld love to have somebody like Rory Fallon 'just in case' but realistically we could not afford that type of player but we could afford an older [player nearing the end of his career, who could do a job if needed, he would probably be in the 35 + age group..

This is the whole point Jo Kuffor is not the type of player that we need, he is small and nippy like a younger Forster. We need a big man to play instead of and with Murray, whatever the circumstances require.

I would prefer Jo Kuffor to Jake Robinson though.
