In a pile of football shirts
Still reckon it's a fourth kit coming out :)

Think about it, what kit would we wear at Carlisle, there is blue in all our kits, and also, what about Hartlepool? Stripes and blue, in abundance. Reckon we'll have a lovely new kit any time soon, who knows, we could go all retro;

Paul Ifil's name is now being thrown around?

I'm not sure this is who we need. His injury record is very poor. Jo Kuffour is who we want.

I don't understand the fuss about Kuffour. If we sign a striker, it needs to be a target man rather than another midget. If Murray is out, Forster needs a big player to play alongside, Bristol Rovers showed that.

I would welcome Ifill, if fit he would be great in League One.

Agreed in some respects..but if we played the ball on the ground height wouldn't matter so much.

:rolleyes:

The type of man we need has signed for Southend from Luton Paul Furlong , big strong, target man, getting on in years so wont expect to play every week but would cause a problem to defences when he came on with 15 mins to go. He isa poor mans Dion Dublin who has now retired. Who else is about of similar size age and ability?

Very serious and so were Southend when they signed him to do just the job that I have suggested.

Probably before your time but MA last time around signed Phil Stant at 39 years old to do just that job. Furlong or similar would do better and offer more coming on with 15 mins to go than the likes opf Robinson Gatting or Gargan or pushing Virgo forward.

You seem to know everything about football tell me who we could sign who would do this type of job for a short time per game other than Bas Savage.

We signed Stant in the division below us. There are players out there who could fulfil the role you suggest however I'd rather let MA's judgement take precedence.

Before my time? Can't be bothered to argue with an old man who is pretty clueless.We don't need a player for the last 15mins as our squad is full of average players who can't get in now.We need players that will fight for a starting posistion or will go straight into the team.

I fully agree but as this is a fans message forum I made,what I considered to be a reasonable suggestion, which some would agree with some wouldnt but it opens the road for debate and I get pissed off when some teenager, presumably, just writes it off as 'are you serious' without even trying to offer an explanation or different view.

Obviously MA knows who is about and who he wants but if we didnt have a view there wouldnt be a NSC.

For man that is 'pretty clueless' I would suggest that we have argueably the best strike partnership in this division with 2 of the top 5 strikers in it. What we dont have is strength in depth as was shown when Murray was out against Bristol Rovers so we need to strengthen that department to bring in a player if the first choice is out. We have a number of defensive options, a number of midfield, although that is not bursting out with talent, but we do not have any strikers that can come on to get a goal if we are chasing one. The best options are Hart and Robinson and can you tell me that you would be confident of promotion if we had to rely on those to be our goalscorers?

Both Virgo and Mcleod can play up front if needed.If we sign a midfielder/winger then i would expect either one of them to go upfront if we have an injury to one of the strikers.Not Hart or Robinson like you say.
