Hang on, how come the last meeting was a few weeks ago, and then this one is announced at short notice as well? Why couldn't they announce this when the concerns were sufficiently raised to have the last one and avoid the problem of short notice? Or are they hoping that not too many people turn up?

Tbf I guess if they had a solution (possibly) for the gold lounges, and are implementing that, and have also been working on the way to deal with the Platinum Lounges, which is what they are doing now, and it is a good weeks notice. At least it shows that someone is actually doing something about a situation that was totally unacceptable last season, just hope they get as positive reaction from the members as they seem to have had in the gold lounges.

We complained a lot last season when they appeared to be doing nothing to resolve the issues, mustn't complain too much now they seem to be reacting at last

We've been discussing it, my guess is they'll make one of the BUPA and Profile lounges 'eating only' and the other Lounge a bar and pies option. Sadly I think they'll make the Profile Lounge the food one, and we'll get dumped to the BUPA unless we're coughing £41 each. On the other hand, the corporate boxes are downstairs adjacent to BUPA so they might keep all the food down there. Thing is, I reckon they'll struggle to fill either lounge for food. I was an early adopter, signed up and paid early doors, the Profile Lounge was the original Platinum lounge, wonder if that will carry any weight?

I'll be very disappointed if we are bumped into the BUPA lounge. I have asked to go next Wednesday. I'll report back.

I think you've answered your own question there....

If they choose to further pursue the fine dining idea then they will almost certainly choose the Profile Lounge. The question is whether they will also allow non-diners in. It will be a right pain having to go through the Profile Lounge and downstairs for a drink. Not what I signed up for. I guess I should wait and hear what they have to say first.

I'd be disappinted too. The only reason they'd do this is to make life easier for themselves, not their customers. I can't see it working very well on a practical level as the lounges are two floors apart so the stair wells will be chaotic at the start and end of each half. Plus I think it will be very unpopular.

I hope the changes they plan are to introduce a choice to the menu (i.e. give us what they originally told us) and to bring the hostesses back to an acceptable level.

Not sure the Bupa lounge guys would be too keen to traipse upstairs either. Don't think it's a viable option either way.

I went this morning, but this will explain the changes:Hospitality Dining Announcement

After the first season at the Amex and the feedback from our Gold members we have made changes to the dining experience within the Gold lounges.

As you may be aware the club held a presentation this morning for all 1901 Club Gold members to outline our vision to improve the matchday dining experience. All dining for Gold members will now take place in the Mezzanine Gold lounges and will not be available in Becks Peugeot, Lifestyle Renault and Chandlers BMW MINI Lounge. Although dining will now only be in the Mezzanine Gold Lounges, all Gold members have the opportunity to book a dining package.

Those members who were able to attend this morning's presentation agreed that changes were necessary and allocating two dedicated restaurants would improve standards and service.

All other Gold lounges will continue to offer matchday snacks and bar service which will enable us to encourage a supporters bar atmosphere pre and post-match.

To celebrate this record-breaking evening and the re-launch of our dining experience, ensure you don't miss a minute of the fantastic matchday atmosphere by upgrading to our dining package. Please see details below of how to upgrade your 1901 Club matchday experience.

Gold package includes:
•NEW unlimited hot and cold buffet (Click here to view menu)
•Half-time tea and coffee
•Full-time pies with tea and coffee
Price: £38 (inc VAT) per person

Club e mail

I agree with the plan to just have a couple of dedicated lounges for meals and the rest for the fans who just want a pie and a pint, but am little concerned that as a member of one the Gold mezzanine lounges who doesn't use the dining option that an pretty cramped lounge will become even smaller if they extend the dining area and do not allow the people that only want to use the bar access to one of the other lounges......

True. The more I think about it the more it seems unworkable so I doubt this is what will happen. I have asked on three occasions for a coat rail; maybe this is what the presentation is for?

True. Given my you, my wife and my other friends stopped laughing at my same old jokes years ago I enjoyed my new audience and was disappointed when the hostesses were culled.

I see the club have now removed the Profile Lounge sofas which appeared at the last game.

Getting rid of the diners in the Lower Gold North (BMW) lounge was a huge improvement yesterday. There had only been a couple of tables of diners in there anyway so far this season and now it is full of sofas and tables with a really nice feel to it.

Huge leap forward for 1901 Gold as far as I am concerned (I cant speak for other lounges of course).

How does it work for you gold guys? You have two lounges at your end right? and you can access both of them directly from the west stand middle tier?

Nope - the downside is we have to access our lounge down two flights of stairs as it is next to the Executive Boxes on the lower tier. I knew that before I put my money down though so it is what it is and I don't plan for a pint at half time as there isn't enough time. There is barely enough time to add the thousand island dressing to my prawn sandwhich in fact.

Just got back - lots of moaning about the food - price etc - they are working hard to address all the issues
I'd say about 100 people there ..

Not much else to say really

Would it be fair to say the moans are similar to the moans last year?

If so then one wonders why it wasn't sorted last year.
