I was referring to the culture among many young Londoners and elsewhere, where perceived slights, are deemed as disrespect. The only redress is killing or maiming (bowels!) someone. The initial 'offence' might be packing someone in, looking at them the wrong way on a bus or tube, etc.

As explained by community workers on R5 and LBC over the years.

In this case it was a reaction of a disturbed mind being publicly humiliated by a group of girls, including his ex.
The victim, snatched his bag from him, because he hadn't returned her friends teddy bear.
It appears this was the trigger point for him to commit the hideous act.

All very pathetic. and horrific.
But I think the assumption of some Yoof culture, machismo, being the trigger, is misplaced in this case.

Most of those crimes seem to be triggered by peer pressure from a gang.
In this case he appears to have been alone when he attacked the girl.

The specific disrespect was being teased by a group of girls and his ex girlfriend throwing water at him.
It was a public humiliation. This was followed up by the following day an altercation where the victim snatched his bag from him.
This isn't some gang-related, macho attack, due to a bruised ego, it's someone who has lost control due to deep psychological issues.

No doubt a dangerous and troubled individual who has committed a hideous pre-meditated crime.
He will go to jail for a very long time, rightly so.

I hate knife crime - I was in Croydon the next day - people I met were especially shocked at this death - poor girl and her friends and family - what a f..ing waste of life!
New Addington! Croydon estate built on the North Downs - I call the Croydon area Britain's 'golf course capital'. I call New Addington 'benefit city'. I parked my car and walked one day - the cultural basement was tangible. Everything is inadequate as we can't bring this girl back to life!

News coming out of a 15 yr old school girl stabbed to death by her previous boyfriend who is a teenager .

Apparently she told him she didn’t want to see him anymore & he pulled out a machete and killed her .

What sort of ‘ human beings ‘ walk about with machetes on them .

Anyone caught with one should be automatically locked up for 5 years .

I know it’s Croydon, and parts of it are very rough but surely the police can’t allow this to continue .

RIP poor girl .
