Is Scott Dann the one that Palace fans kept saying was going to play for England?

Gareth Southgate's World Cup plans must be in tatters now.

Step forward Lewis Dunk

Step forward Lewis Dunk

Scott Dann, whom no pundits have pressed a claim for an England call-up, has ended his season by fouling the best player in the country.

Lewis Dunk, whom many pundits have pressed a claim for an England call-up, is part of one of the best defences in the Premier League.

Yeah, you've got the upper-hand with this one.

That's what I said, I'm sure he'll do a grand job in Russia.

He won't go to Russia as both you and I know.

Shame Scott Dann's chances have been dashed so cruelly though, eh?

At least you can have a chuckle about it , eh ?

Ultra bored so after a quick tot up it looks like this

30th december we had 10875 seats left in the home end , today this is how it stands

North stand = 1534 seats available
West upper and lower = 4563 seats available
East upper and lower = 3463 seats available

So a total of 9560 common man seats left if my janet and john maths are correct we have shifted 10315 in 4 days , sales will probably slow a little for a couple of days then pick up on thursday when we announce our new Mexican wonder signing .

I reckon they've added more as there are still 10,681 on sale in the home end
West 4,800
North 1,606
East 4,275

add in the segregation, 1901 no shows think its going to only be 15,000 - 16,000.

so disappointed

Yep your right just did another tot up and a whole section must have been updated , pity really because the 3rd round ticket stub will enable first dibs on Cup Final tickets

Given that our main objective is to get knocked out of the FA Cup as soon as possible then this article suggests the smaller crowd will help.

I absolutely get people's disappointment with the apparent undermining of the rivalry but life is far too short to worry about it. There will be some very low crowds around the country - on Saturday afternoon we would have got 20K+ for this and that would have been good.

I understand that there a lot of fans that can't make it for various reasons, but the fact that we had our biggest home crowd of the season against Stoke on TV on a Monday and there are fans who just can't be bothered to come to this really stinks.

Would be VERY interesting to see how many of these fans would turn up if we got Man United in the Cup. I'm not saying the fans who are coming to this game are better than other fans, but they are clearly the ones who actually give a shit about the rivalry. I'm disappointed because I thought more people cared about it. If you don't, then fair enough. Doesn't mean I can't be disappointed by it though.

In a way this was the ultimate test of the rivalry, and it's not really going to come out with good marks. As John Lennon sang: "The dream is over."

Though the 1901 no-shows WILL count towards the 'attendance'

If we'd been drawn at home to Man U and it was bumped to Monday night, with no trains, and it was on the telly, then I'd STILL have watched it in the pub instead (as I am doing with this one). Had they kept this Palace game on Saturday or Sunday, then I'd have gone. Simple as that really.

Yes I have.

I don't think that's true.

Only 4 posts after your reply. There are plenty of other quotes of a similar nature.

For my part, I don't blame anyone missing it given the multitude of reasons and I am disappointed that the crowd will be so low, but at least it'll mean I should get away from the game earlier.
