I have accepted Adams is here for the long haul, although I never wanted him back. Avoiding relegation will do for me this season and I hope we can push on a bit from there next season. Micky has dismantled a team that needed tweeking imo. What happens from here on depends on whether we can hang onto the loan players or whether we have to get more in or use what is here already.

I wouldn't exactly put Virgo down as quick.

Who is our fastest defender? Richards,Elphick?

I was saying that Lynch should be recalled for that reason. I do actually think that Virgo/Lynch partnership would be our best partnership but Tommy is good enough if he is played with 1 of the 2.

I'm not sure he'd play for us now.

The big question is though should Dick have stuck his oar in and changed things i am happy for Adams to get things right over time, however this could have been done much quicker if he had left Wilkins alone to get on with it.
If the fans had spoken i would have expected Knight to do what is needed but they hadn't.

I personally blame Knight for poking his nose in.

Poking his nose in??? What, the Chairman, poking his nose in the affairs of a football club he is responsible for running? Whatever next! :D

One man being far to dominate at our or anyone's club isn't healthy unless he is wearing a tea towel.

Well, in the case of McGhee's sacking, I believe it was actually Bloom Jnr who pulled the trigger - not DK. As far as we know this time it was a unanimous board decision to replace Wilkins with Adams. At the moment the jury's still out, but I reckon the board will be proved right.

Well it is a case of either Micky is not good enough or Hawkins is not good enough.
If Hawkins isn't fit then it is absolutely shocking management from Micky because Virgo and El-Abd are both good centre halves.

I think both are "good enough" but Micky is making the wrong decisions at the moment.
Hawkins, Whether fit or not, has lost form. It is up to the manager to see this and do something about it. With Virgo at the club there was no reason for an out of form/unfit Hawkins to keep playing.
With regard to Lynch I think that is down to the player rather than the manager. Had he not thrown the toys out of the pram he would probably now be playing. I hope Forest are not interested in him after his loan expires as I think that is the only way he will come back to us now. He had his head turned by the interest of a bigger club and we have lost a good player as a result.
I was pleased today that Adams took off Hawkins and put Virgo at the back. Just a shame that Elphick is now suspended meaning Hawkins will still play. Will be interesting to see if Virgo has a blinder at the back vs Hereford what the back 4 will be for the next game.

What worries me is that we have added good quality players in the last few weeks - Thornton, Savage, Anyinsah - but overall performances have not improved.

I hope that the board are not going to keep flashing cash for new players/loans this season unless we are down to 15 fit players as these players should get us within a shot at play-offs at least if Mickey can get them playing together in the right formation.

Next performance is really going to count after this mauling.

Come on Brighton.:albion2::albion2:

Not impressed so far, new players haven't settled, some of the tactics are very confusing, the getting rid of Lynch, the constant playing of Virgo anywhere but centre back and Hawkins generally. Has to improve or come Xmas the pressure could get difficult

How can you say Hawkins has just lost form?!

For a start how many games can you honestly say he played very well in, maybe a handful against average oposition.

I think it was blatantly obvious that he would be found out for his lack of pace and ability with the ball at his feet. He is so often out of position and has no pace to make up for it. I don't think that a fit Hawkins should be starting let alone a unfit Hawkins!

I cannot blame Lynch for wanting a move having lost his place to Hawkins. Micky still played Hawkins ahead of Lynch when he was needing surgery, pretty much stating that Lynch was not in his plans.

agree 100% loss of form for more games than he played well?!? Its not a loss of form its the fact he is no good

Up until the Scunthorpe game I think Hawkins played very well. He was carrying an injury then and should not have played.
He played at Yeovil and was outstanding. After that he had an op and has been poor since.
We let in 2 goals in the first 6 games with him playing. Lynch was not involved having missed some of pre-season due to injury. Do you really think after letting in 2 in 6 Hawkins should have been dropped for Lynch?
When he needed surgery Lynch got his chance but then refused to play.
