Title should read $ not £.

The dark knight is the best of those 10 for me - from what I've seen. I did enjoy avatar though. Haven't seen the new transformers yet!

Which of these had large-scale 3D showings? Obviously Avatar and Harry Potter did, I assume also Transformers, Toy Story 3 and Pirates of the Caribbean? Clearly the increased ticket prices for these showings has an impact on their ranking. Ticket price inflation will also have an impact, particularly in the case of Titanic, being more than 10 years older than the other films.

Do you have the corresponding figures for ticket sales?

Most of those films are the overproduced American shite that I hate to be honest. Avatar is the best example of all the technology and effects you could ever imagine but absolute pony story and characters. I wish other nationalities had the same budgets as the Americans as I cannot help but feel they would make the films so much better.

I reckon that ranking films by box office growth is a marketing ploy to make recent hollywood output seem historically more successful, and therefore allow them to flog sequels and star vehicles off the back of it.

What would really interest me would be a list of top films by the number of people who paid to see them, then we'd have a better idea of the most loved films.

only seen 2 at the moment ... Toy Story 3 which was superb and The Dark Knight which had it's moments , but felt that people only went to see as Heath Ledger died close to its release (in the same way that people are buying Amy Winehouse CDs now)

I've seen them all bar Titanic.

No farking way I'll ever watch it let alone spend $13 at the time to see a ship sink I already knew sank!

It is fuckin shit. Better?
Blunter :) I only saw it recently, and couldn't understand why (given all the people I knew who had seen it - at least 5!) no one had pointed out just how bacdly scripted it was. The fact that it sits top of the (money) tree does not bode well for the future of films.

Seen 1, 2, 4, 6, 7 and 10. Probably enjoyed LOTR the most, Titanic was by far the worst... never quite understood all the hype over Toy Story 3 either - its alright, but just more of the same really. In fact, interesting that 7 out of the 10 are sequels...

Seen 1, 2, 4, 6 and 10. I probably enjoyed the Dark Night the most but wouldn't include any of them within my favourite top 10. I thought Avatar was awful, terrible predictable turgid storyline.

I think I enjoyed the Pirates the most out of those movies. They are the ones i'd be far more likely to repeat view.

Was super pumped to watch the final LOTR though at the time.

But that didn't work with The Imaginarium of Dr ..... did it though? and he died making that.

I can understand why films use box office takings rather than tickets sold but it's a pretty pointless figure

I am rather glad i don't like best-selling items on the market. A list of general drivel akin to a list of the highest-earning Nestle confectionary brands.
