No idea what this means exactly, but if others like AC/Zeqiri go on loan, on available numbers alone, could he end up in the 25?

I would say actually having a squad number, given he presumably hasn’t for a season or two, is possibly an indication he will be involved in the 25. I don’t actually think he’d be a disgraceful option- think some people have been very harsh. He will do a job of absolutely required.
Either way it feels like things are starting to seriously suggest a couple of incomings in the next few days.

Don’t think there is much chance of !ocadia going anywhere permanently this window……why would he? He’s on a salary right now that we dumbly agreed when he signed, and it’s a salary per week he won’t ever get near to again once his contract ends. He has zero motivation to sign somewhere else and take a big pay cut.

Only way it happens is if we pay the difference as a golden handshake to terminate, else he will surely just refuse to leave.

So he'll be off on a free next summer then? We did that one year extension thing already to take him through to 2022, I think.

Well, he's worked hard, willingly trotted off to wherever we've sent him - and was possibly considered to be next in line until he injured himself in the friendly against Chelski. Sanchez took over, and the rest is history .....................

We don't have to name him, the rule that you cannot leave a squad place empty if you have an eligible player registered that could take it doesn't seem to exist anymore. For example Sheff Utd named 22 players at the end of last seasons summer transfer window leaving Simon Moore out of the squad.

That said, like with Andrew Crofts, its better to name him and not need him than have an injury crisis and not have the option of sticking Dicker on the bench etc.

16 (when Khadra goes) out on loan leaving currently a squad of 26. 3 of those are currently injured and 2 quite possibly don’t even exist. A further 3 have played a combined total of about half an hour of PL football. Fair to say we’re very short at the moment.

I'm easy - get Cucurella over the line would make it a good window - and a late successful swoop for Sima, even if he's intially for the U23s, would be a nice bonus.

Good luck to Crysral Palace with signing Edouard (I really mean that - I hope they do) and Benfica can start day dreaming about 40 million Euros for their boy in 2022 (but not from us).
