Did we win the war though? We were on the winning side but I think that winning had rather more to do with the USA, Russia and other commonwealth countries joining with us.
A good thing about him is that he looks to play the ball quickly which puts the defence under pressure.
Unfortunately these days, rather than under GP, we seem to look to play one on one at the back without cover. This will not work for him, or us, with his diminutive stature.
Yes as a wing...
The difference will be of course that he will not be on the way to Arsenal. If he wants to have a decent chance of being a starter in the first team he will need to go to the Championship and kick on from there.
He's reputedly on £35k a week and his contract expires in June 2025. I doubt it will be extended so enjoy him while you can. He's an exciting player.
Unfortunately not good enough defensively at RB but is a good ball carrier and crosses well. He's an excellent impact sub.
We could do...
To me JPvH is not the same player without Dunk beside him. I agree the fear. Igor is a fourth choice centre back and it doing pretty well but it is sure to be a stern test. I think we'll be recruiting defensively in the future at RB and CB. Webster is too injury prone and cannot be relied upon.
Yes for the their final goal after 90 minutes. I think, am hoping, that is due to a need to become match fit. Perhaps he should have been substituted earlier, like Baleba seems, to be around the hour mark.
He is an international player having played for Holland 10 times. He wins the ball well and will set up a number of breakaways and goal chances for us. It is his distribution that is patchy and he seems to be struggling to come to terms with the pace of the PL. which is understandable. He has...
That would be a tough one. Their expectation level is high but without the resources. With us he was fortunate in that we were new to the PL and the fans were patient after having two seasons of Chris's practical and necessary football. He would likely have taken us down without the Covid...
I have made no comments about the high line.
Yesterday we were missing Dunk and were unimpressive in defending the box. 2 - 0 flattered us greatly. Wolves probably deserved a draw.
Yes our second goal was against the run of play and a Wolves goal had been coming. The Wieffer pass was symptomatic of the whole second half performance. In the end Wolves did enough to draw. I think there was complacency everywhere. We so badly missed Dunk.
It was as if we thought we could...
Yes and one needs to keep a bit of perspective and rather ignore all the media. He's had a few really good games but he has not always started. Of course if he keeps this up it will be brilliant but there could be an injury around the corner or a little loss of form.
Look at Ferguson. Just...
He's really too thin skinned for any top post. The kind of abuse an England manager gets would make him totally unsuitable for that role. He is financially secure for life, as long as he doesn't have a gambling addiction so doesn't need the aggravation. He can 'enjoy life' with more modest...
There clearly seems a camaraderie and a will to win amongst the squad. This can be attributed the manager and the influence that he has.
We seem to start most games slowly and this seems to be something that needs to be addressed.
The results, rather than perhaps the performances, have been...
I think he is decent enough in home games when we are on top, when the others in the team are all functioning well.
I see him as a weakness in away games when we are under pressure which will cost us.
