I think there is a lot to this. If GP won't even play him further forward, then he and Chris must realise that's not his suited position. The Burnley game summed him up for me when he came on as sub. He made a lovely mazey run forward, had the chance to either shoot or lay it off either side to...
To be fair, Ipswich have messed around with their kit for a number of seasons now so I don't really think Town have one kit that is "them". They've been very inconsistent with the pinstripes.
Fantastic day at the office, we looked a very assured PL outfit. I felt these last three games were a real test to see whether we are worthy to take it to that next step next season. Today proved we are capable. Well done GP and all the team! :albion2:
And I'd echo the OP that post-lockdown...
Absolutely love it!!!! I have been wanting us to revert to the 80s style all-blue for years. Get in!!! I shall certainly be buying for myself and my forthcoming baby in January. :albion2:
I completely agree, and sadly it's only because Dunky's playing for "little old Brighton" that he's not getting the recognition he deserves with international call ups.
I have been very critical of Webster this season but I was delighted to see how well he played last night. Excellent performance!
Like I said in my post, I don't disagree with the OP (or yourself for that matter). I too believe the future is bright. It just surprised me that that was the first thought that popped into the OP's head after that kind of second half!
I'm not quite sure how you come out of that second half thinking "the future's bright." Not that I disagree, because in general I think/hope it is. But my first reaction at the full-time whistle was "phew, how the bloody heck did we escape with a point?"!
I think you're right in the sense that Southampton have been very handy since the lockdown and on this form would look to finish top half next season. A point is certainly not to be snubbed.
However, I don't think it's wrong to highlight some of our deficiencies. If Southampton had got a winner...
I know there's no love lost between Brentford's owner and Uncle Tony, but I too would love Brentford to go up! Brentford fans I've come across so far are bloody nice people and proper football fans.
I used to be very pro-Championship and quite at ease with us getting relegated one day as life was more fun out of the PL. However, since listening to the Price of Football podcast, the Championship financially is beyond broken. I fear those pre-PL days are gone and life in the Championship...
I really do think these last three games will tell us an enormous amount of how far we have actually progressed. Not just because we'll have played 38 games. These last three games are against the teams we want to become; Southampton, Burnley and Newcastle. Our next step is to not spend the...
I agree with much of this. Keepers better than Maty are out of our reach (excuse the pun). Whatever keeper we bought to replace Maty would be better in some areas but worse in others. Walton would be an interesting proposition for number 2 spot.
Like you said about point blank shop stopping, I...
I'm going to be positive and say 5 points. I'd be really disappointed if we ended up losing any of those games, and it would be the cherry on top to get one more win before the season's conclusion.
Yep, can't disagree with any of those really. I've loved Bissouma since the restart so I'd bump him up to 5/6. Though I thought Bernardo had a poor game, I don't blame him for their second. Our defensive set up from corners in the first half kept on leaving an ocean of space for City players to...
Sadly, I agree with this. I know hindsight's a wonderful thing but no point setting up to play marginally more positive against a team like City and be twice as worse defensively because of it. It would have been no less enjoyable to watch us have parked the bus for 90 minutes. We wouldn't have...
That was an extremely annoying watch. It is bizarre how Liverpool are runaway champions as City, for the third season on a trot, are by far the hardest Premier League team to play against. They are utterly perfect in everything they do. We had a far easier time of it against Liverpool on...
