Please someone explain our recruitment this summer?
We should have spent big on at least one CB. Everyone can bloody see it.
Totally nuts. We've spent the most money in world football and seemingly totally ignored where we need to strengthen and our managers preferred tactics.
Palmer should have scored 6 this half. That's f***ing embarrassing. Wieffer looks way off it. Our tactics are stupid. This isn't football. It's like kids in the park stuff.
Given we are meant to have access to some of the best data in world football, how the hell did we go into this season with defenders clearly incapable of playing the (albeit ridiculous) way our manager wants to? It doesn't make sense.
Firstly, Ferdi isn't a left back anymore than Hinsh is a RB. We've not signed him to start ahead of a fit and in form Pervis. Bit of memory loss here re Perv. At his best there's very few better left backs and he makes Mitoma better. Ferdi will play RB more than LB, I guarantee that.
At the moment the tactics are a bit odd and a bit naive. I'm not blaming any players yet as the whole thing seems a bit confused.
We surely can't complain being unbeaten and we will improve.
Hinsh in the middle is perfect. Allows Baleba to play very centrally, Hinsh can occupy the right central space but go outside too, Veltman inverting and stepping into midfield, currently looks our most sensible team IMHO (injuries and form considered). I'm expecting a really impressive...
He's been in and around the first team since October/November, so that's already almost a year.
Want him to succeed as much as any player but giving him basically two seasons to prove he's a decent squad member feels generous and unlikely.
He'd be an outstanding player at Champ level or for a decent Belgian, Dutch, Scottish team etc. Bit more time, more space, could imagine him doing an O'Reilly etc. Simply isn't at our level sadly.
