Agreed. It created pressure. That can't be argued against. Looks like we got carried away because it seemed to be working. After Palmer had hit the post it needed a rethink, after the disallowed goal it needed changing.
Tomori. Dream signing. Great age. Great experience.
Jayden Oosterwolde.

And we need to press for more than 15 minutes (which before yesterday we were doing) and, perhaps most importantly, stop giving the ball away. Certain players seemed intent on passing the ball either to Chelsea players or nowhere near ours.
That's a warning. Persist with the high line by all...
Palmer's quote absolutely savage.
Just strips back the online tactical BS on YouTube etc down to the core, and something footballers easily understand. Just knock the ball over the top. That's it.
I can't remember a quote as blunt and dismissive as that.
The high line thing...
It isn't about whether goals were scored directly from it it's about the pressure it creates. We weren't pressing effectively. Palmer hit the post from a high line and after that it was carnage.
Pressure equals chances, mistakes, goals.
It should have been done pre game. But if I remember correctly it went post, disallowed goal, goal in about five minutes. At what point does someone go 'we need to get on this kid'?
I also think it was mad not to pay closer attention to Palmer. You get a man on him surely? It's not like we don't have a track record of doing that. We've done it effectively with Odegard, Haaland etc.
Agreed to a point but we do have a massive squad and have just spent the most money of any team in the world to improve it. We aren't the paupers we once were.
I think 70% of teams in this league would think a draw decent enough at our place. What they will be doing is licking their lips at the prospect of the home match.
Yup. There's a high a line and there is playing on the half way line. All for the former but the latter needs reigning in a tad.
But after last season we know that's now a reality. For whatever reason players across the board are getting injured more regularly.
We will almost certainly never have our strongest team available in less that miraculously improves. And why would it?
Off the top of my head Newcastle have Botman...
