I do think England up to Southgate have always had something go badly wrong in tournaments, you could call it unlucky.
Southgate however has had incredible luck and long may it continue.
Are you talking about both centre backs going for the same ball with neither of them getting near to winning it? Guehi not tracking back with his man? Walker all over the place positionally when the threat arrived?
Seriously look at the goal back.
We were an absolute shambles at the back...
The reason people say we've had an easy draw is because we have, not because we've played the likes of Argentina or Brazil.
When has Southgate had anything other than an easy draw in a major tournament?
We had one of our centre backs booked in the 3rd minute.
Slovakia should have scored in the 5th minute
Slovakia nearly score in 12th minute, another let-off for England
It's coming
Goal for Slovakia in 25th minute.
Is this your idea of being tight at the back and hard to score against?
Hi
Looking for some advice and tips from the vast knowledge base.
Going there in September, arriving on a Thursday, looking to spend 4 nights in Toronto, travel down to Niagara, stay a couple of nights and then back to Toronto.
Am I doing it right ?
And where is best to stay in Niagara...
There were plenty of alarm bells ringing at the time when they appointed Hyypia, as Leverkusen's results had deteriorated badly when he lost his assistant.
That appointment turning out to be a dud was predicted by many.
I do wonder whether we'll see a CDM in for the knockouts, probably Mainoo there. then Rice can push forward to his Arsenal position.
His biggest dilemma is Kane obviously not fit, Saka similar and Bellingham looking knackered.
The one thing Southgate is good at is getting great draws in these tournaments and it looks like it's continuing.
All the best teams in the other half of the draw.
Nice walk up the Adur yesterday.
All the usual suspects but got Common Reed Warbler, Reed Bunting, Yellowhammer, Skylarks, Sedge Warbler, a couple of Buzzards and a couple of Kestrels, one of which I saw with binoculars swoop down from the telephone wire into the grass.
What he did with his body looked weird in real time but when you look at it in slow motion he throws his leg out and back into the direction of the defender not to shield the ball but to cause contact.
If he'd just concentrated on controlling the ball and shooting he would probably have scored.
