    [Albion] Palace Fans Biggest Fear

You'll have a hard time finding a Palace fan who doesn't speak highly of Dougie. We had been spending an awful lot of money on players approaching the end of their careers as a sort of 'quick fix' under Pulis & Allardyce, but spent very little under Hodgson due to our wage bill being so high...

    [Albion] Palace Fans Biggest Fear

All of that seems true to me. What isn't true, however, is that without Gallagher we'll immediately revert to Hodgson-style bus parking. He'll be a big miss, but I've got every confidence in Dougie Freedman's ability to recruit & Vieira's ability to coach his way out of the problem Conor's...

    [Albion] Palace Fans Biggest Fear

Gallagher is an excellent player. He presses relentlessly and intelligently, has a fantastic first touch and can finish like a center forward. He is not, however, a particularly gifted passer of the ball. He's not the sort of player you look to when you want to dictate possession, and he's not...

    [Albion] Palace Fans Biggest Fear

I'm assuming you're fishing here but just in case you're not, we had 57% possession in our loss against Arsenal last week. We'll probably surrender possession against Liverpool & City and play on the counter, but we'll try to dominate possession against pretty much everyone else, for better or...

    [Albion] Palace Fans Biggest Fear

I'm going to pretend that this result doesn't count because there weren't any fans in the stadium. I hope that's alright.

    [Albion] Palace Fans Biggest Fear

Big Pat is being pragmatic. In the majority of games we'll look to keep the ball and dominate possession, and when playing away from home against superior opposition we'll look to keep things tight with 5 defenders and play on the counter. In order to be successful, we'll need to be able to do...

[Brighton] Levi Colwill *Signed on Season-Long Loan 05/08/2022*

There is no buy back for Guehi. Chelsea have a right of first refusal, i.e. if Palace accept an offer from any other club, Palace are obligated to accept an offer from Chelsea for the same amount of money if they wish to make it.

    [Humour] Altogether, say BOOM!!!

I agree. This is a slippery slope, and if you're not careful you end up with clappers and words to songs up on the big screen.

    [Humour] Altogether, say BOOM!!!

I think some of their "statements" come across as seriously wanky, but they've made an enormous difference to the atmosphere at Selhurst in the last 10 years so they're a necessary evil. Matchdays would be worse without them.

    [Humour] Altogether, say BOOM!!!

He's French, and couldn't speak a word of English until last year. I think he's doing fine :) And yet whenever Palace are mentioned on TV or radio, commentators and analyst can't help but mention how impressive the atmosphere is at Selhurst Park. What do they say about the Amex? :)

Nutmegs only count if you actually keep the ball :lolol:

    [Humour] Holmesdale Fanatics

Not sure if you've quite understood the point. When Palace fans sing "South London is ours" it refers to the fact that we're currently the most successful team in South London by a distance. It doesn't have anything to do with violence or how 'ard we are, because that's utterly ****ing stupid...

    [Football] Will Hughes palace.

Didn't have a pre-season at Watford + had been struggling with a back injury. Looked excellent last night.

I wasn't playing centre half at the time, unfortunately.

He was caught napping by Iheanacho today, but he has otherwise been fantastic so far and is key to the way we're trying to play. His passing is different gravy. Leicester were possibly even luckier to leave with a point than you were! :ffsparr:

    [Albion] Palace Fans Biggest Fear

Nobody else did; that was one-way traffic for 93 minutes. Not even a 90th minute Albion winner could take the smile off my face yesterday. Looking forward to our game on the 27th. Given we've been under Roy / you were under Hughton for most of our previous PL meetings, it might be the first...

    [Albion] Odsonne Édouard

I don't disagree with you; it's a huge jump in quality. I hope Edouard can make it successfully but it's certainly not guaranteed. I was just pointing out that Benteke had an outstanding first season at Palace and his goals kept us up, so it was a bit of an odd comparison to make.

    [Albion] Odsonne Édouard

Yeah. He scored 15 PL goals that season. Here's hoping for more of the same.

Really? 0 weeks? That's impressive and incredibly surprising given that you've spent most of that time desperately clinging on to your PL status.
